I bought Lenovo Laptop(320 GB WD Hard Disk) having windows 7 Home pre-installed system. Recently I had OS boot issue then I bought new Hard Drive and planning to use the WD Hard drive(which came along with my Laptop) as my back-UP (USB-connected) drive. When I connected to my system(as USB drive) showing I/O Disk error and unable to access the personal information on that. Please suggest how to get out from this problem. I am planning take my personal information and format it and use that disk for my back-up disk. Thanks in advance Suvarna.

Hello! :)

Try other usb ports on your laptop. If this doesn't work, replace your usb cable.

I need firmware for Western Digital WD Caviar Blue WD3200AAJS - hard drive - 320 GB - SATA-300 SATA

If you are troubleshooting a system or OS problem, you should not consider firmware updates until after exploring more typical troubleshooting steps like file system error checking and anti-virus scanning.

If you are troubleshooting a system or OS problem, you should not consider firmware updates until after exploring more typical troubleshooting steps like file system error checking and anti-virus scanning.
try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive this should schedule the task on restart then defragment your hard drive

How to make partition in a new seagate freeagent Go 320 GB

Here is a link to Microsoft on how to get to and use disk management. I do not know what operating system you are using but disk management has not changed a lot. The link below references XP and if you follow this step by step it will work great.

Laptop shows only 4gb ram & 300 gb hdd

This is the limitation of a 32 bit (x86) Operating System. A 32 bit OS can detect upto 3GB RAM only.

You may either try installing the x64 Bit of XP Operating System or Vista Service Pack 1 or 2 for 32 bit Vista Operation System to resolve the issue.

After installing the SP 1 or 2 of the Vista OS in the Computer, the OS will detect 4GB RAM.

My lenovo onekey recovery not working?

Hi All,

I am new to to the community. I recently bought a lenovo G series machine( G550 model #298595Q preloaded with Windows vista and 320 GB HDD) . surprisingly The C: drive contained 254 GB of the total available 284 GB and D: drive had the remaining space. I wanted to inistall linux, I had to partition the C:drive and no where in the lenovo mannual it is warned against the resizing C:)

I used a partition software called "paragon" to resize my C: drive. My system hanged while running the process and after a long wait I had to shutdown my system and after that my OS was not loading. So I decided to recover my vista using one key recovery. I tried the back up I stored in D: drive and in DVD and it is giving an error message that "not enough space in the system" and in the one key recovery menu the target location of the one key recovery is showing to D: drive but my preloaded vista was installed in C: drive and also it is showing the total free space as 298 GB)

Could any one help me to get my vista back.( why the target location of one key recovery is showing to D:)
or is there any way to increase the D: partition from boot setup). Please help me.

and also my warranty is valid , since I touched my C: drive( no where it is warned against that)?

I bought a laptop without OS how can i now get vista in it?

You will need to get a windows system disk or install disk and boot up with this in the laptop to load windows whatever into your hard drive and set your laptop up to run on the new drive. Here is Microsoft's tutorial on how to install and set up windows:http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/winxp/default.mspx
Hope this helps you.
