If you are trying to format this card through a PC don't bother, it will not work when you install it into the phone.
If you are trying to format this card in the phone, you may find that your phone will not access high capacity type cards as few older phones do, and by older, I mean if the phone is more then 6 months old, the chances are that it will not allow access to the card.
Some phones also have an upper limit to the size of the card they will address and most will not address any card larger then 2gig..
Of course, you may also have a faulty card, even from new, some of the high density cards are faulty..
If you can get access to a smaller card (like say a 1gig), try that in your phone. If it works then you will find that your phone cannot address high density cards.
I have a camera, less then 6 months old, will address normal 2gig cards but it will not allow high density 4 gig cards which is a pain but alas, nothing you can do about it..

Hi,

Make sure you have formatted the memory card correctly.
FAT16/32 will work most of the times.

Hope this helps!

How do i format my samsung e250 mobile, plz tell me the whole procedure...

The format is done for the microSD memory card and might be done within the cell phone's menus or using a card reader and connected to your computer, then formatting it that way. If you use a PC, open up "My Computer" and look for the memory card. Right click on it and select format. You will see two choices, FAT32 and FAT. Choose the "FAT" option ("FAT" is also know as "FAT16"). Once complete the card will now be formatted using the FAT16 format.

My Samsung behold doesn't recognize memory card!

find an card reader for it (it's probably microsd, get and sd card adapter) and format it using a computer. when your computer recognizes the card, go to my computer, right click on the card (should be listed under removable storage), and select format (try FAT16 first, then FAT32). after it is done formatting, put it back in your phone, and see if that works.

if not, then you might have a bad card. try a different card. if the second card doesn't work, could be the phone.

good luck

Nikon 4300 CF Card Erro

The Nikon Coolpix 4300 only supports the FAT16 filesystem, so it can only support a 2GB partition. To support 4GB you need a FAT32 filesystem.
Put the card in a CF writer and attached to a PC or Mac. Partition 2x2GB partitions, then format them as FAT16. Now put it into the Coolpix 4300 and it should work.

I've formatted my 4 gig memory in a pc , but when it is unable to read in the psp

Format it with your PSP not your PC, you pc will read the format from your psp but not vice versa because you are probably formatting it NTFS and not FAT16 or FAT32, the psp has its own way o formatting it. Thanks

I ve bought a new meory micro sd 4Gb card for my

Be careful, if you use the USB cord to plug the phone up make sure that your not formatting the entire phone.

Did the Micro SD card come with the bigger card to plug it into making it a standard size SD card ? If so then you can plug that into a card reader if you have one go into MY Computer, and right click on the drive of the SD card click format.

Those are the only other ways of solving said problem if you can't do so on the phone itself. Also the phone may not accept a memory card of such size.
