No thanks, I will use my own endeavours rather than having to pay as this issue is not so much a need of advice as just finding a part. Thanks anyway, I shall keep your address for future use when required.
Thanks
Peter

The 5 blinks on the LED means that the main logic D board is defective and will need to be replace to fix the TV.

Left half of screen has vertical color bars of different colors

Hi

This will be your screen controller board that has failed also known as the ldv's board, With the back removed from your TV it will sit below your power supply and be connected via a ribbon cable to your Y Sustain board on the left.
Remove it and take the part number of the board then Google or Ebay for a replacement.

Take a look at the below link so you know what you are looking for.
Hope this helps

CHECK FUSE AT Y-SUSTAINER PCB. IF BLOWN, DO NOT REPLACE IT! LOOK AT SCAN CONVERTORS BOARDS. THEY ARE CONNECTED BETWEEN Y-SUS AND PLUGS FROM DISPLAY(LEFT SIDE WITH FACE DOWN, BACK OPEN). SCENARIO: SCANS GOT BURNED(LOOK FOR A SIGNS AT THOSE LONG BOARDS: UPPER&LOWER).FIND ANY IMPERFECTIONS: REPLACE ALL 3 BOARDS: Y-SUS, UP/LOW SCANS.LAST THING: IF FUSE IS OK, CHECK POWER SUPPLY FOR BLOATED CAPACITORS(BIGGEST BOARD IN A MIDDLE OF THE SET) SAME SERVICE POSITION.

No video but audio is fine on Sanyo 42" DP42746 TV

If you unplugged the Ysus board, then you need to replace the Ysus board, or both sustain boards. This is the part: The part is often available on Ebay, or from manufacturer. Look also at Vance baldwin or Partstore. To do a good job the Sustain boards should be tested by a tech , following service manual. It is almost for sure sustain board by the way.

Power supply issues

hi there, i recommend replacing the entire board. once you have a short like this, the micro board itself will become useless. the thin micro circuitry has become separated within the layers, preventing a closed current transfer. its best to order a new canvas so to speak.

NEC 42mpi plasma tv not working

Check the +170 volt  test point on the power board (not the power filter board, the one that the plug comes into) but the one to the right of that board. It has a 5v test point (TP +5v) , a +170 and a +70. I've found that the +170 transformer goes bad, and won't allow you to adjust the voltage using the pot screw.
