I have the same problem with mine the model is DRB-4047 lots of heat but the blower won,t do the job, and I found out WHY! it is the circuit board, I took the circuit board out vary easy, and i took a look at the circuit board, you will see on the board two black resistors, now look at the board it looks burnt, if you turn over the board you will see that there is NO GLUE on these two black resistors, you will need a glue gun and glue, put ALOT! of glue on the board were those two resistors are, and glue on the back of the board on the connectors, once done wait for about hour, then it should be fine, i checked mine and it works great now, all the best and good luck, by the way would you send me a email to see how you made out, Thanks [email protected]

SOURCE: motor in dimplex fire/heater not turning
Hello. It could be possible that a piece or some of the foil that gives the flame effect has fallen down on the motor, that creates the heat. This could be causing the noise. I would not think this is an electrics problem.
I would ensure the electric fire is disconnected from any power supply and either open the heater myself or get a electrical specialist to have a look. Then you will see exactly what is happening. A piece of foil may be visible which is catching the motor.
If you decide to tackle the problem yourself write down how to put the heater back together as you take each part out. These parts would be covers etc. It can easily get confusing. That is important.
SOURCE: all pro heater runs for a couple of minutes.then
it only shuts down because of an overheating condition or the lack of fuel. if you have an ohm or multimeter, check the ohms on the fan and see if you have any resistance. If you do the fan is good but may still not be putting enough air across the heat exchanger to safely alloww the heater to run without causing a fire.
SOURCE: Electric fireplace still works, except the flame
Find an access door on the back or side or both.
check lightbulbs.
Do not replace with anything but exact bulb.
try taking the bulb to Lowes...I've gotten luck there before with odd bulbs...they have a special drawer for them.
Good luck,
Vinnie
SOURCE: Dimplex Convector Heater EPX1000 turns off by itself
I have the same problem with 3 of the 5 EPX1000s I have fitted in my flat, although mine don't even warm up. They just immediately turn themselves off. My only conclusion is that they are rubbish. Specifically, the so-called overheat protection doesn't work. Avoid.
