When turning on my Polaroid SprintScan 4000 (SCSI version), it starts its warm up and relative light starts normally blinking. After a few seconds, the light turns off and the scanner produces two/three thiny ticks stopping its initialization procedure. The scanner stays on but the PC doesn't recognize it! OS Windows XP sp3 Home Edit. ASPI drivers properly installed and fully operational! Dear expert, when you say that you deem I have power supply problems and the failure may be caused by a short or a bad part on the main board, you are referring to the main board of the scanner, aren't you?

If so, and, thus, I need to send my scanner to a Polaroid service, please, would you mind being so kind and indicating to me where I can find a suitable one in Italy or the closest to Italy, in Europe?

I have already tried on internet but the two Italian addresses (phone numbers) I have found seem not to be valid any longer!
