Check the status light on your adapter The state of the adapter's status light indicator can tell you the status of the Xbox 360 Wireless G Networking Adapter. Here's what the different lights mean:

  • Steady green light: The adapter is connected to a wireless router, gateway, or access point. The adapter is ready to use.

Collapse this imageExpand this imagei have an ac adapter for the new xox 360 250 gb , - wirelessnetadptgreen1.jpg
  • Steady red light: The adapter is ready to be configured. For information on how to do this, please see: 908877 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908877/ ) How to configure wireless settings on your Xbox 360 console
  • Flashing red light: There is a problem. The adapter might be experiencing a hardware failure. Contact Xbox support.
  • Not illuminated: The adapter is not receiving power. Unplug the USB connector and plug it in again. Still no light? Try plugging the adapter into a USB port on the front of the console.

  1. On the console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.
  2. Select Network Settings.
  3. Select Configure Network.
  4. On the Basic Settings tab, select Wireless Mode.

Note If wireless mode is not available and you are using the black Wireless N Networking Adapter, try using the software installation disc included with the adapter. For more information about how to do this, please see the following article:
977641 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977641/ ) How to set up the Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter
  5. Select Scan for Networks.
  6. Select your wireless network name.

If your network is not listed, try the following:
    1. Select Specify Unlisted Network, and enter your wireless network name (also referred to as your Service Set Identifier [SSID]).
    2. Select your wireless security: WEP, WPA, WPA2, or No Security (if your network doesn't have a password).

If you can't connect to your wireless network, try improving your wireless signal using the tips in the following article:
      909336 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909336/ ) Your Xbox 360 console receives a weak wireless signal

  7. Enter your wireless network password, and then select Done.

Note Make sure that you have entered the correct password. An incorrect password might allow your console to connect to your wireless network, but you might receive an IP address error when you test your Xbox LIVE connection.
  8. Press B on your controller, and then select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

If you successfully connect to Xbox LIVE, you'll see this screen:

New smoke detector, new batteries, red light flashing is that normal

copied from the manual, available at the kidde website

RED AND GREEN LED INDICATORS This smoke alarm features separate red and green LED indicators. The LEDs indicate the following: GREEN LED CONSTANT ON - AC power is present. OFF - AC power is not present. RED LED - Can be seen through the Push-to-Test button. Blinks once a minute - Indicating presence of a working battery. Blinks once a second - Smoke alarm senses smoke and simultaneously sounds an audible alarm. Blinks once every 10 seconds - Smoke alarm is quieting an unwanted alarm (Model ADC only). (Interconnected system only): OFF - Another smoke alarm in the network has sensed smoke and is signalling this alarm.

Two of my smoke alarms went off (no fire/smoke in or near house), one has a green light blinking and one has a solid green light, which need a new battery/reset?

The constant green LED means the alarm has AC power.
A flashing green light every 2 seconds without an audible alert means the unit recently sounded ( was the one activated ) and is now in latching mode to let you know that it was the unit that detected the problem. To clear the latching mode hold down the test button for 5 seconds.
Red LED flashing once per minute means that the back-up battery is connected and functioning.
Red light flashing constantly during alarm means that it is the unit that initiated the alarm siren.

My x box 360 will not turn on & the ac adapter box light is lit up red

If you are getting a red light on the A/C adapter then your adapter has gone bad and you need to get a new one.

What does it mean when there is a solid red Power light on the ATT 2wire DSL wireless router?

it means 2 things. 1st it could be the adapter because theres still power to it and 2nd is the 2wire router is already defective. if its possible for you to bring the 2wire with the adapter to any computer store or to att store and have them plug a new adapter on it . or if you have available 5volts adapter you can try to check if power will be solid green using diff adapter definitely its the adapter but if you have tried it but power will flash green or red the modem is dead. powerlight of any router should stay solid green no matter what happen.
have it checked carefully so you dont need to spend $82 for the 2wire, adapter is $10 only..

Goodluck!

I just purchased wireless adapter for xbox and wireless system linksys. The light on the adapter was initially green but then changed to red and will not go back to green. Is this a problem I can correct...

Hi! dont worry about the green and red lights on the wireless adapter, If you are getting a green, it means that you have an excellent signal but if the light blinks on red, it means that ur signal is not steady and trying to get a stable signal.. that is normal on a wireless card..

On the issue with th ebattery on the 1521 inspiron. Took battery out and plugged in still will not power up. Could it be the adapter as well?

On the ac adaptor, look for a green light that will turn on when you plug it into the wall outlet, if its on that means the ac adapter working. If you get a green light on the ac adapter but then the green light goes away when you plug it into the laptop then that means the laptop has a bad motherboard.

If you plug the ac adapter into a wall outlet and get no green light then that means the ac adapter is bad and you would need to get another one.

Laptop won't power up dies in the middle of movie-won't power up

You would probably be better off buying a new notebook. Not sure how tecnologically advanced you are but it seems you already did the troubleshooting yourself. But i am very interested in the a/c adaptor output. If the led on the adaptor is green that just means that it is getting power from the wall.

What did you mean by fluid leaking out?

It could be the mobo (motherboard) or it could be the connections from the power to the machine. If you want to put a new mobo in I have to warn you that taking apart a laptop is VERY difficult and I do not recommend this unless you are a PRO. This is just about the only link i can find to buy a new board. If you google your laptop model you will find out you definately are not alone with this problem
