Sylvania DVR90VF will not play home burned DVD-R disc

I burned Memorex DVD-R discs on my computer using DVD Cloner V and they will not play on my Sylvania combo player/recorder. I only get an error message. Might you have any suggestions so that I can play them?

DVD Cloner does the same thing as DVD43. I am using DVD Cloner on Windows on an iMac with intel core processor, so that might be the problem - I understand there can be hitches in using this for some things.

I have a sylvania VHS/DVD-R recorder/player. I recorded home videos to dvd-r/cd, but after I copy/burn the videos to a blank cd using my PC, I get a cannot play, remove disk error notice.

Did you finalize the DVD before you removed it from the VCR/DVD recorder? Until a disc is finalized, it won't work on another device. If you left some space, try to finalize it now. Does the disc play when in that Sylvania unit? It is possible that the unit is faulty and didn't focus the laser properly for writing to the DVD. (If you actually tried to burn to a CD and not a DVD-R, then no data was written to the disc. There are slight differences to the laser settings for CDs and DVDs.)

I hope this helps.

Computer burned DVD will not play on Mintek model MDP-1810 portable DVD player

Do you use a DVD burning program or DVD copy program to convert ISO file to DVD? Normally, if you not, it is just data DVD and not a playable DVD disc for DVD player machine.
You can try to use some programs to copy ISO to DVD such as Leawo Blu-ray Copy or Windows Disc Image Burner. Microsoft has included a default feature of burning ISO files to DVD disc.

Make my memorex mvd2040 play homemade dvds (avi files on a disc ) ?

In order for you to make the unit read home movies, you haveto make sure the AVI files are being converted to a DVD format. If the video isnot transcoded to that format, the player will not recognize the disc. You willneed to use a burning application that converts the files prior to burning it,or get software that converts files to DVD and then burns it to a disc.

I Have a Memorex MVD 2047 DVD Player thats supposed to read DVD RW disks but it doesnt read them help?

Like you said the unit is capable of playing DVD RW and DVD-RW. However, some discs may not be compatible due to format of the files on the discs, software used and laser pickup. Some technologies used to record on discs can prevent optimal playback of the files by changing them which affects the ability of the player to read the file.

If you are burning the discs, I would suggest you different software, make sure the video/audio files are being converted to a DVD format that can be played on stand alone players.

I downloaded a movie on my computer and burned it to a DVD disc. I can play it back on my computer and other DVD players but not this one. I get a message '' No Disc''. Can you help?

The MVD2027 has a bit of a reputation for being really picky about which discs it will play. It's often especially poor with recordable DVD's, and especially with rewritable discs. This kind of behaviour can also be an early sign of a failing laser head assembly.

All you can do is to try the movie recorded onto different brands of recordable dvd and also see whether it makes any difference using DVD+R or DVD-R. Other than that, there's nothing else you can do.

Home burned DVDs won't load, commercialy produced DVDs load OK

Try using a programme called dvd flick http://www.dvdflick.net/ to author your dvds and use imgburn http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn them. I had similar kind of problem with dvds burned with nero and now use dvd flick and imgburn all the time and have had no problems. They are both free programmes so hopefully they will sort the problem out for you :)

My memorex 16X DVD+R Discs to play in my home player

-r is more universal, +r is newer.
Howevr it could be what you are using and how you are burning the DVDs.
Try just moving the Video TS folder to the recording cue and burn just that (as data).

Sylvania dvr90vf dvd recorder

Unfortunately without a firmware upgrade the only disks you can use are DVD-R or DVD-RW. The tricky part is that you can ONLY USE 2X speed. Per my conversation with Sylvania there is a firmware update that will allow you to use up to 8x disks, but they are charging $17.00 for it.
