Ive had my Camara a while and I really wanted too take pictures today. But when i turned it on it said access, went in and out 3 times, and then said 'turn power off' Ive tried loads of things, such as; Giving it a little tap and pushing the lense, pulling the lense. and i i've even tried initalizing it so many time and that doesnt even work. Soo what am i suppost too do?

try to reset it hold down the power button and it will beep a couple of times repeat 3 times

I have the exact same problem on my finepix, it occured today when I was uploading pictures and the battery on the camera went out... Maybe its bricked or something such... Ive searched firmware downloads but no success..... So Im also hoping someone has a solution...

You can download from any digital camara.Load the CD that came with the camara or obtain one if you can. You need the interface cable that is purchased seperately. You do not specify the camara spec so you will need to Google the" model and pc interface cable". If you have the cable then the next step is the camara driver which should be on your cd that came with the camara. Plug in the cable to the camara and to the USB port on the PC (make certain the camara is set to the Play position or PC). Windows will ask for the driver location. Insert the cd and continue. If windows does not see the driver you will need to locate it manualy from the cd or on line and download it to your desktop from the manufacturers web site. All camara companies have a support website for the drivers. Once the drivers are loaded then you need to switch the camara to the Play position so it can be seen by the computer. Go to the control panel in windows and select system then hardware then devices. If all went well you should see the camara listed as a device. Basically picture files in memory card have corrupt data that's why computer doesn't recognize it.
HP recommends following action...
Close the HP Image Zone or HP Photosmart Software, disconnect the camera from the computer, and reset the camera. (can see this at HP Support)
2nd option is to find some memory card data recovery software on internet and use it to correct data files in memory card.

You are connecting to a Windows PC I assume
The camera plugs to a USB - what is special about it?
Remove all software associated with the camera.
Now plug the camera in and set it to upload.
Windows will put of the Scanner/Camera Wizard.
Let Windows do the work

This is new. I see that according to the illustration, there is no Optical Viewfinder- thus you need the the screen to compose the images - Is this correct? As this camera is new to you carefully read up the instruction manual - especially the set up routine. If after a day or so you are still in trouble - take it back to the store for replacement. Do not interfere with the camera.

I talked to a Panasonic Rep. today about the same problem. She said to send camera in for a over-the-counter exchange. they do not fix this (DMC-LZ5) model camera. do you want mine for parts?

Does your battery work with regular AA alkaline batteries ? They have higher voltage than NiMH rechargeable. I'm having a similar problem, just discovered today that my camera works fine with AA alkaline batteries.
