What scanning software are you using? In Adobe Acrobat Professional 9, you can set up different scan profiles, including duplex scanning. The sheet feeder holds up to 50 pages; you just tell the software to make all pages one pdf.

Is there a way to define scan area settings in CapturePerfect v3 to allow for different margins when scanning front-side and back-side of a paper? I.e. to compensate for differences in left and right...

Interesting question. I don't think there is a solution from CP3. It is logical to assume that front and back sides are of the same size and hence there is no provision in the software. One option is to scan once for say top side(left margin) and change the settings (select reverse scanning, i.e, bottom side only) and alter the margin as required, nevertheless you will have to scan twice. You can also crop after the images are generated separately, but it is difficult to separate odd and even images, assuming there is a large number.

I'm trying to photocopy a book on a canon imagerunner 5075 without copying one page at a time and flipping the book around. Is there a way where the copier scans the right page and then scans the left page...

Hi Kim,
there are a couple of easy ways to tackle this problem. you have a book that when the spline is opened exposes 2 pages to the glass for the possibility of copying. What YOU need to determine is whether or not you want page 1 to ouput seperately from page 2, or , would you like page one to be on one side and page 2 to be on the second side. In other words auto duplex. That decision determines which feature you will use. I will walk you thru both. I realize you want the copier to scan the first page and then scan the second without you having to move the book around. I'm thinking you would be happy if the copier did that very thing and you wound up with a 2 sided copy with page 1 on the front and page 2 on the back. Here we go. Fom the main copy display locate the 2 sided button and select it. Select "book 2 sided" and follow the prompts. You could actually copy the entire book this way and when you are thru press "done" and here comes the avalanche!
If you want the images 1 sided on seperate sheets (not sure why) you can select "special features" from the display in the lower right corner and select "2 page seperation". same drill.

Can Lexmark x2470 scan and print a double sided document?

after reading the manual, http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/2007/2400/ug_en.pdf, yes it is possible - not that it tells you how to do it though so read on.
Until you become familiar with the process just use one sheet of paper at a time in the printer.
As you know, in the scanner the top right of your document goes to the right hand front corner of the scan bed (the clear window), place the page on the scanner and scan.
Pick up the printed sheet of paper and flip it so the left hand side edge is now in your right hand and the right hand edge is now in your left hand and you are now looking at the blank side of the paper.
Insert the page back into the sheetfeeder.
Flip the page to copy in the scanner so the rearmost edge of the paper is now to the front of the scan bed and the front edge of the paper is now towards the rear (you should now be looking at the page you scanned previously).
Scan the page.
you should have now scanned both sides of one sheet of paper to another sheet of paper.
as your printer does not have a sheet feeder for the scanner you have to do the process manually. hope this helps.

My scanner is now adding a page with a black line that runs from top to bottom of the page and the actual document scanned is page 2. But the document is fine with no line through it. Does this mean that...

Check your scanner software settings. It is probably set at duplex ever time you start to scan. That is why you get two pages for every pass, the front and the back. You must place the document in the feeder in a way that the front side of the document is page 2. You may want to flip it next time you scan. So the main question is why there is black line from top to bottom? That is because there is a piece of dirt stuck on the glass of the scanner. You see, this scanner actually does two scanning when a page runs through it: the front and the back in duplex mode. So there are two scanners in side the box. The front page scanner apparently is dirty and needs to be cleaned with clean cloth and lens cleaner.

We have a Konica Minolta C652, scanning books to pdf

Hi Potahal,
You can do it straight from the photocopier by using the "Seperate pages" button/option. Then you just keep scanning page after page and chose "Finish" to build all the seperate pages into one pdf.

Canon dr9080 scans front page as all black.

First check if the front side (i.e top) scans properly in the simplex mode. Try different contrast levels for better clarity. In the setting menu select appropriate contrast for both fron and back, then you should get good outputs. Even after all this if the front page gives dark output, may be the LEDs are not glowing due to lose contact. Try in color to check LEDs. S. Mohan, Chennai, India
