I believe the voltage in India is in the 230-240 volt range here in America around 110 volt if that is the case you might need to talk to the Nintendo repair center http://www.nintendo.com/corp/distributors.jsp
i wish you the best of luck

Wires that do not come with the Wii fail. Always use the one that comes with the Wii.

I think you probably put too mush power into the wii. USA uses 110V instead of 220V so you may have fried the wii or (hopefully) only the power supply.

I have bought a wii in us. i brought it to india, bought a plug, and tried it but i think it got shocked help

In case you brought it from US and didn't use a manual stabilizer to bring down the voltage to 110 and plugged it in India in that case the power supply for the wii is blown and you would need to get it repaired because in India the voltage used is 220 V as compared to US and some other countries where the voltage is much less than 220V.

We bought the Wii Mario Kart in England and it won't work on our Wii station in the US. We get a message that says "unable to read the disc". What should we do?

It's from a different region, so it won't work at all unless you either:
A) Buy a european Wii
or
B) Mod your Wii to free up the regions.
North America and Japan (as well as some other random places) use NTSC format, while Europe (and other random places) use PAL format. You can't play PAL on NTSC and vice-versa.

sorry to say my friend but you have fried the power supply unit, and a new one will be needed, the repairs can be done quite cheaply though
