The screen on my TV goes completely dark for about 1 or 2 seconds. Both the picture and audio go out. After 1 or 2 seconds, the picture and audio both come back and everything is fine. This will happen randomly and without predictability. Sometimes days will go by without incident. Other times it may happen several times a day. Can anyone help? I have had the same problem for the past month. About a month ago, the TV would lose picture and sound for about 30-40 seconds and then come back on. Initially this would only occur a couple of times a day and then the TV would stay on as normal. In the past week the problem has become more frequent. Initially we could just leave the TV on and cable box off (felt like we needed to "warm" up the TV) and that would fix the problem. Today the TV stays on for about 2 minutes and then goes off for about 40 seconds consistently. Anybody know what to do or what needs to be replaced?
Your tv parts is ok.only the solder joint is crack or cold thats why function abnormally, goes off and goes on,due to when voltage is there the solder is hot and connect the parts joint, when voltage extremely hot, due to prolong use it will disconnect the solder joint parts thats why you cannot see picture..its need to reheat the solder joint of all parts affected....power supply section ,,horizontal section, vertical section ..and to microprocessor ic section including jungle ic..
find a tv technician to do the works .in order to avoid high voltage shock this not cost too much because only reheating works....

There seem to be a ic which is getting back and will soon balck out the tv.
i could be the power supply. Bad regulation of the incoming voltage could cause this issue although, to be frank, so could 10 other things but we have to start somewhere. There is a capacitor across the incoming line and nuetral. It can dry up and cause problems. Change it out with one of identical rating.
I would probably also check the flyback circuit and flyback transformer although now you are getting into a dangerous area, especially if you have no electronic experience.
.
if you plan for a service tech this will help >>> http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/support...?
