I have a proform 740CS, it sometimes slows way down, if I step off it will sometimes speed up much faster than what it's set at, but then slows down again when I step back on. Other times, it remains extremely slow. Still other times, it works just fine. The speed readouts don't reflect the periodic slowdowns and speedups.

SOURCE: belt is slipping on a proform 740cs treadmill.

Similar solution on a ProForm 500i. Symptom was that the belt would slip whenever you'd step down.
Solution was to use an Allen wrench to tighten the bolts at the back (behind) of the running deck. Had to go two full turns. Careful to unplug first, and careful to tighten each exactly the same amount.
Also wiped the parts of the platform I could reach under the belt with vinegar water, since they were gunky.
These two things fixed the problem

SOURCE: Proform 740CS runs okay but the incline does not

ProForm Treadmills have a reset procedure for the incline function. With the key inserted in the console, activate the incline; while the incline is changing, remove the key. Wait 30 seconds, then replace the key. The incline should to maximum, then to minimum, resetting its limits. It worked for mine just 10 minutes ago; the procedure is in the manual if you have it. Good luck!

How do I slow my Husqvarna Viking 18 x8 down. It stitches fast and faster, never slow.

To slow down the stitching speed on your Husqvarna Viking 18 x8, you can try the following steps:
  1. Check the machine's manual: First, consult the manual that came with your Husqvarna Viking 18 x8 machine. The manual should have instructions on how to adjust the stitching speed.
  2. Adjust the stitch length: One way to slow down the stitching speed is to adjust the stitch length. A shorter stitch length will slow down the machine's stitching speed. Refer to your machine's manual for instructions on how to adjust the stitch length.
  3. Change the foot pressure: Another way to slow down the stitching speed is to change the foot pressure. Reducing the foot pressure can help slow down the machine's stitching speed. Again, refer to your machine's manual for instructions on how to adjust the foot pressure.
  4. Use a different presser foot: Some presser feet are designed for slower stitching speeds. You can try using a different presser foot to slow down the machine's stitching speed.
  5. Use a speed control pedal: Some machines come with a speed control pedal that allows you to adjust the machine's stitching speed. If your machine has a speed control pedal, try using it to slow down the stitching speed.
If none of these steps help slow down the stitching speed on your Husqvarna Viking 18 x8, you may need to contact a professional technician for assistance.

Dear sIR:
yOU HAve LUBE the treadmill, had been producing enough friction for to shut down and protecting the electrnoic system.

2) Lube the rollers bearing very well.

3) Test the voltage motor, if there are the motor need repair or replace.

I have a model 297980 J8 proform treadmill. when I first start it up without the safety key in it, the treadmill runs at full speed for about 2 minuets. After that it slows down and stops. The speed is set...

You have to put the safety key in if you want to select speed/incline or predefined programs.
It starts and runs at full speed on that occasion because it's part of the maintenance process, that lubricates the inner rollers so that it will continue to work perfectly for as long as possible.

Treadmil stops or slows down upon walking.

Check both belts to be sure they are adjusted and not slipping.Check the underside of the walk belt to see if it feels frayed in the center as compared to the edges, the center always wears more than the edges a really worn belt must be replaced. if it is nor worn there is a wax lubricant for proform treadmills that can be purchased at retail stores that sell treadmills.Sears, dicks sporting goods and also treadmilldoctor.com are good places to buy it.
