My Rowenta iron was working fine the last time I used it. I plugged it in to use it today and nothing. The little red light on top comes on but the light on the side to let me know it is ready and hot never came on and the iron remained cold. The Rowenta iron is the Precision model. I don't have it very long. Do you think this can be repaired for a reasonable amount or should I just get a new iron?

Yes there is a solution, I have a DG580 with the same problem. I had to replace the electric cord which cost $17.00 and took 30 min to replace and now works like brand new.

Red light keeps blinking and iron shuts off

Sounds as if the cable may be damaged or a loose connection. May be cheaper to buy a new one from wallmart or similar store.

Light comes on, but iron will not heat up

Like what was posted before, the cause of the iron lights is on but the heaters are not hot is because either your heater connection is melted or rusted due to water seepage(steam irons). The lights power supply are tapped parallel to the heater supply thus lights is on. Solution is to dismantle the iron to replace the connectors or cables. Though not all iron is easy to dismantle
