Photo Paper Feed

I am unable to get the photo paper to feed. I can hear the rollers turning, but it will not feed. Then the notice pops up that the printer is out of paper...You can detect on the top sheet of paper in the tray that the rollers were turning on it, leaving a mark. I have tried a number of different types of papers, still no feed. I've cleaned the rollers and done everything the "help" has suggested. Still, I cannot get the 4x6 photo paper to feed. HELP.
Thanks

Hi,

the issue that you have might need to change some settings from the printing properties. WHen you hit on PRINT, a box will open, right? look on the top right of that box, you will see "PROPERTIES" or "Preferences" just click on it, then another box will open. Click on Printing Shortcuts tab, try to review the settings. And if you want to print using the main tray, it should set it to Automatic select or Main tray. And make sure that it sets to General Printing. But if youre going to print a photo, you will have options there to choose what type of paper when you click on that, the settings on the paper size, paper source, etc. will change also. For paper source, make sure that it sets to Photo Tray.

If you will be able to open printing preferences, all options are there, you just need to read and choose which settings you want to use.

Thank you so much.

Paper feed won't accept photo-quality paper - the paper feed action is not smooth - it will just about take 80gsm paper but not evenly and sometimes it feeds several sheets through at the same time. At the...

The paper pick up fingers and rollers get smooth and polished with use and then slide on the paper. Clean the rollers and pick mechanisms with isopropyl alcohol to rejuvenate them and restore their grip on the paper. Do this as far along the paper path as you can get, using Q Tips where necessary and turn the rollers to clean their whole surfaces.

Paper doesn't always feed, and when it does, the paper rolls through without printing

Get a Q-Tip and alcohol. Wet Q-tip with alcohol. Stand in front of the printer and look down where the paper feeds through. On the righthand side you will see a big roller that pulls the paper through and a little one right up under that. Clean both of them with the alcohol and Q-tip. Press the paper feed button and as it trys to act like it is feeding the paper, clean the roller with the Q-tip. Do this until the paper feeds through correctly.

Wont feed glossy photo paper

Clean the feed roller(s) with a cloth dampened with alcohol. They are probably slippery with paper dust.

5300 won't load 8 1/2x 11 photo-weight paper.

''grabber'' roller out of work sometimes, you may try
1) there is a input paper sensor around roller, the roller out of runing if the sensor is not senitive enough or sensor switch dirty,
clean the sensor as you can find it,
2) Lighter-weight paper feeds and prints fine, which means this paper input sensor works ok, but you need to make sure they are same paper input sensor,.
3) the paper surface bright and the roller worn could be cause paper feed fail, you need clean the roller anyway. still not fixed, you need to adjust the roller pressure by increase the spring force.`

Paper will not load into my Epson PHOTO R340 printer.

May be the problem is at paper sensor, that dirty. The sensor is at bottom of head casing. When paper feeding, the sensor not get the light back, so the printer "think" that no paper. Try to clean paper sensor.
