Touch Screen My Htc Touch phone is in the lock mode. When i press the button on the top to take it off standby the lock screen comes up, but when i press the buttons nothing will work. I have tried rebooting & removing the batter several times, but the touch screen will not function.

You can try turning off your phone and and then while turning on hold the power button and volume down in order to enter recovery mode. Once in use the volume keys to navigate to reset option. To press select use the power button.

If you want to erase the lock pattern you'll have to hard reset the phone but this will erase everything including contacts, downloaded contents and settings.

1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then press the END/POWER button shortly and release it.
2. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.

Do a Soft or Hard Reset .

HTC Touch Hard Reset

Power on.
Press and hold buttons marked 1.
Press and release 2 with stylus.
Release buttons marked 1 when menu comes up.
Press directly down on center dpad, marked 3.

Looks like you should try to Hard Reset it.

This is done by having your HTC Diamond turned off first.

Then, hold the VOLUME UP and DOWN buttons at the same time and briefly press the POWER BUTTON.

Now keep holding down the VOLUME UP and DOWN buttons until you see a screen

At soon as you see this screen, you should release the VOLUME UP and DOWN buttons.
Now press the VOLUME UP button to complete the hard reset. Now this will completely format your HTC Touch Diamond as if it was turned on for the first time from the box. Everything once previously on the phone will be deleted including messages, contacts, music and the like. Hope I have been of assistance to you, Cheers :)

i used motorola CE0168

just remove the tick from auto backlight adjust ,, and then softreset

There must be "unlock" button at bottom left corner. Click on it and a new screen with another "unlock" button in the middle will be displayed. Press it and screen will be unlock. Let me know if this doesn't work for u..

dear htc friend lol this is surely a manufacturing software issue so please be kind to ur htc and contact a service centre or so because only they have the what should i say the eqipment to work this out

just press power button and that puts device to sleep mode and locks display
