Do a hard (factory) reset of the phone. Be aware that you will loose all data. So if you have a memory card take it out.

I want to know which format of applications is valid on my xperia x1? is it a smart phone or a windows pocket phone?

Your Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 has Windows Mobile software making it a windows pocket phone.
Synchronising etc is done via WMDC or Windows Mobile Device Centre as you may see it called and that can be found on Microsofts own website.
