Wher do the bateries go in the coolpix L20 camra?

Try it on another computer to see if the issue still happens.

If the issue still happens use another USB cable.

If the issue still happens with a another USB cable then the USB port on the camera may be no longer working.

U obviously broke more that just the lcd screen. Your lens assembly is now fubar so you will have to pay the piper to fix it. Or just get a new camera.

You can repair the battery door of Nikon Coolpix L20 by using any adhesive. Please carefully apply the adhesive while repairing the battery door. If this will not works then you have to contact the service center for new battery door spare part.

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

FIRST MAKE SURE THE CAMRAS OFF. SWITCH YOUR TV TO THE VIDEO CHANNEL. PLUG THE A/V CABLE INTO BOTH THE TV AND CAMERA. THEN USE THE PLAY BACK BUTTON TO TURN THE CAMERA ON INSTEAD OF THE ON/OFF BUTTON.

You can't. It's designed as a still camera with limited video capabilities. Any videos go to the memory card or internal memory. It's not intended as a webcam.
