I have the usb cord and the camera. I hooked it up to my ipad but it said USB not supported. What is the problem I have about 600 pics to download

Images are stored on standard Type I CompactFlash cards. Consider the included 8 MB card a starter capacity, since its 12-picture limit means you'll need to return to your computer often to transfer images and free up the card for more pictures. A 128 MB card is a great size for this camera, storing around 200 images. To transfer images to your computer, simply attach the included USB cable between your PC and your camera. Your computer should automatically recognize your camera and let you move the pictures to your hard drive. Simply click on my computer click on new drive shown in this folder, select all the pictures, copy them and past to your desired location,
you can also copy picture by using card reader, put the SD card in card reader and follow the same procedure

I don't understand why you would want to transfer pictures from the computer to the camera. Normally you transfer pictures from the camera to the computer. But, if you really want to restore pictures to your camera's memory, you can remove the SD memory card from your camera and transfer the pictures on any computer equipped with an SD card reader/writer. These devices are built into most Apple computers, many PC's and are available as USB accessories for all other computers. I have seen them for under $20. When you connect the device and insert your camera's SC card, your computer will recognize the card and treat it as if it were another hard drive. You will be able to read or write or drag and drop picture files just as you would with any other file on your computer. By the way; most professional photographers use this method to transfer there photos rather then transferring them using a USB cable from the camera.

Use a card reader to copy pictures from the computer.

The camera is designed to capture pictures for ultimate transfer to a computer. It's not really intended to receive pictures from a computer. Thus the camera's data transfer capabilities are designed to go one way. To go the other way you need to use some other device, such as a card reader.

Be aware that if the pictures were taken by a different camera, or have been edited in any way, then the camera may not display the pictures. Opening a picture in a photo editing program and saving it without making any changes counts as editing.

When you connect your Nikon camera to your computer some program is automatically loading up and then transferring your pictures over. If you haven't deleted the picture from your camera then reconnect your camera back to your computer. Follow the same steps you did the first time but watch the screen carefully. When the program tells you it is copying the picture over it should have a window open to the directory that it is using for the transfer. You should be able to get to that directory in your computer to work with your picture.

If the program deleted the picture from your camera then just shoot another picture so that you have something to work with. Most programs use some kind of a naming convention when it is saving your pictures, Usually it is a name made up of the date you are transferring the picture on as well as a number. The program should open a window before the transfer is completed to allow you to use your own naming convention.

Connect you camera to the computer using the USB cable. It will be shown as a removable drive(If the autorun is enabled windows should list the option to transfer pictures.Choose this option if it does so). Open the drive and and transfer the pictures to your computer.

Transfer from camera memory
there might not be a way of transferring picture within the camera. However the SD card _should_ have resolved the memory full issue. Plug the camera into a computer with its USB cable. Transfer the pictures to the computer and delete them off the internal memory. Assure that your SD memory card is functional by trying it in another camera or in the slot on a computer.

hey, yes you can transfer pictures from the computer to your camera...you take the memory card from your camera and insert it in your computer (if you do not have the slot to insert the memory card you cannot transfer pictures) thn sync pictures to the memory card and then insert memory card back into camera.

This error message means that the preferences in EasyShare software are set to save pictures to the CD-ROM drive or some drive other than your hard drive.
