"Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver."

I have installed XP in Compaq Presario Laptop. I have configured audio. But I get the error message "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver."

Please give me a solution ASAP.

unable to install Audio driver problem, and notify you when a new solution is offered. driver installation faild: could not find the media device for this driver

    some times it says canot find the device and some times instasllation failed

thats cause the drivers you are installing are not compatible with windows xp

Promblem in installation of Audio Driver of Compac presario C707TU
Check the Compaq/HP WEB site - download the latest drivers for the Windows version you are using. Sometimes the latest one does not work but the previous one will work. (I've come across this problem before and it is not confined to Compaq/HP)

If your CD Driver is not working, try researching it in the internet. Go to the Compaq website and type your laptop model so it will find the right driver for your laptop. Once you find it, download and try to install it.

I think you must try to install realtek audio driver coz it works for most of the speakers.And if that doesn't work PLEASE check that your spekers are intalled properly.And please first completely remove the previous audio drivers.
