Could be several things, is the machine filling up with water?
1st thing is the water level switch, inside at the rear of the machine, If water is not detected then the machine won't start.
This is probably the cheapest and easiest to replace first.
Isolate the machine from the mains, lift the whole top lid (insert a flat blade 4" from each side at the front top seam to release).
Lid will tilt all the way up and back.
Switch is rounded about 3" diameter at the back behind the drum, 3 wires with a small hose attached, replace keeping all the wires in the correct places and re-attach the hose.
