Purchased a new samsung led lcd 7000 series tv. I connected the satellite receiver to my yamaha receiver with a HDMI cable and then another HDMI from the yamaha to the tv. The tv is not getting a signal from the the satellite receiver. What am I doing wrong?

Make sure it isn't your cable or satellite TV service making the captions, as closed captions on your TV are separate from the ones produced by your service provider. If it isn't your cable/ satellite, open the TV menu and find the Audio/Visual properties section of the menu (audio and visual might be separate sections), and find the closed captions or CC options menu. When you do just change the setting from whatever it is on, to off. If your TV remote is fancier than mine (which it probably is), their could possibly be a closed caption button on the remote for easy access. In this case just push the button and change what you need to.
2 hdmi inputs on samsung tv? different ways you can do it.if it was me i would run samsung blue ray to tv hdmi in,shaw box [if supported hdmi]to tv in, if not coax.
and i would sound out on tv to yamaha?
That is because you didn't have the audio input connection right. 1. HDMI cable going from the Samsung tx72 output to Your Samsung TV HDMI input 2. 2. Non HD directv box Left and right audio output should be connected directly to the Samsung DVD receiver under Satellite input.Select"Satellite"for the sound from your Samsung tx72.You are good to go!
