My rear projection television will boot up by having that little green flashing light for about 70 seconds then i try to turn it on and the green light stays solid for about 3 seconds then powers off. I did the self diagnosis and got error code 23, i replaced the capacitors and also the IC chip(the chip STK393-110 behind the big heat sink and applied thermal paste), i still get error code 23. I have read on many forums about PICO fuses and i'll change all of them if that can help, i don't know how to use a multimeter(yet) to check the voltages on all the things on the board. With the multimeter is it necessary to unsolder every piece to check the voltage? I will check every piece if i knew how to do that properly so i can replace them.
I've been on this problem for over a month now and i don't have the money to pay a technician to fix it, i am proficient in soldering. Also i know the error code 23 Horizontal Deflection failure but i have no idea what that means. If there is anyone out there who can help me it would be awesome and i would appreciate it, also pictures of the parts i need to check would be nice since i'm not really sure what they look like although i can see the numbers and letters besides all the parts.

A 23 error is loss of horizontal deflection First thing to check is the solder joints around the Flyback and around the two transformers T5A31 and T5A32. If you resolder those three items then pull the Q5A31 HOT ( Horizontal output transistor ) from circuit. If you send me a email to [email protected] I will walk you through how to test the various components in the Horizontal deflection circuit and help you get your set up and running again.
I replaced STK393-110 and after I had unsoldered it and was removing it, some of the legs just fell off. After I replaced the IC everything is back to normal. I had to go into the service menu to do some fine tuning to the convergence, but otherwise that solved my problem. My ws-65611 previously had error code 23 and would power up for a second and then shut off. Hope this helps someone down the road.

i have the same problem i get 23 error code........can u tell me what to check..i pulled the horizontal output transistor and it tests ok....
I just bought this tv used, worked great before I brought it home. I plugged it in with extension cord. Power button blinked then stopped. Pressed power button, green light came on, then I heard a pop like a fuse popped. Press reset button, press power button, green light comes on then off. I got a code 23 out of it. Any ideas what could of happened? Could plugging it in with a ext cord or moving it to my house caused this problem? Any help would be very greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dan.
I bought my ws-65611 at an estate sale broken and found that it gives error code 23. Checked the dm board for faulty caps and found none. I resoldered the flyback and a few other components that looked like they could use it. I would like to know what advice Slinteriors was going to give to the original poster. I will reassemble everything tomorrow, but before I took it apart the tv would briefly come on (less than a second), and then turn off right away.
