most of the mp3 players are recognized without installation cd itself. please answer me the following questions 1. are you using your mp3 player for the first time in your computer or you uninstalled the software and lost the cd .
2. what happens (or shown )in the screen of the player when you connect the device to your pc
Hi, just had the same problem after restoring my system.
You must disconnect and update your Windows Media Player to Number 11. My reinstall left me at WMP 9 and it wouldn't recognise my Clip. Go to the Windows website, follow the download instructions, and you should be fine. When you plug in the Sansa Clip or MP3, it should recognise it right away. Hope this helps!
I had this same problem, I had the MP3 player all packed up and ready to go back to the store, but I decided to try it again. It didn't work, but when I was pulling the CD out of the drive, I noticed that to the left side of the CD it says for more information or UPDATES!, go to www.sandisk.com. So I did, got to the site, went to downloads, and right there it was Sansa Download Updater. Downloaded the updater, and it gave me step by step installation. Now my MP3 player works, and very well.
