That depends. If you have physical access to the router, plug any computer into a LAN port with a networking cable. Re-boot the computer.

Goto Start > Run (or type in the search box)

cmd

Hit enter.

You should see a black command prompt.

Type in: ipconfig

and hit enter. You will get three sets of four groups of numbers: IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway.

Open up your web browser and type in the gateway address in the search bar. It should take you to your router's home screen. From here you should be able to find the wireless section and reset the password.

SOURCE: network security

Once you've logged into the router (open your browser, and type ONLY this into the Address line, without the quotes: "192.168.2.1). You should get a log in pop-up, "admin" is the username, and the password is left blank (or is sometimes "password"), again without the quotes.

Once logged in, you have a series of menus on the left hand side, Usually large blue lines demark each section, i.e. "Lan Setup", "Internet WAN", and of course the section you are looking for "Wireless". Under each header is listed each of the pages available for that function. For example, under Wireless you'd want the first 2 items: "Channel and SSID" - this is where you set the name of the wireless network; and "Security", which is where you setup whichever one of the Encryption options you want. This Encryption key is the password you will use when connecting wirelessly to the router from a PC.

Hopefully that is enough to get you setup.

SOURCE: How do I security enable my Belkin router?

Hi there,
Connect a computer to any one of the four LAN ports of the Belkin wireless router. DO NOT use a wireless connection, use a cable.
Open your web browser and type the IP address of the router (by default, the address is http://192.168.2.1.) in the address bar and press Enter.

Click Login on the top of the page to login to the router. By default the Password is left blank, click Submit.
Click Security under Wireless menu.
Under Security, Select 64 bit WEP (or 128 bit WEP).
Select Key 1 and enter any 10 hexadecimal digits - any combination of 0-9, A-F (26 digits if you selected 128-bit as the encryption strength). You may also enter a pass phrase and have the router generate a key for you. Example (0102030405060708090a0b0c)
Apply the settings.
Please write down the key – You will need it later to configure your wireless computers with the same key.
Remember to set an admin password before you close down, other vice anyone can access you router and change the setup and admin password.
/regards

We have a belkin.49ed router and hooked it up. It

The wireless security of the Belkin must have been enabled. Use a computer wired to the router to access the setup page and get the network key.

In the address bar of your browser, type 192.168.2.1.

By default, leave the password blank.

Once on the setup page of the router, go to Wireless -> Security. You will see the network key here.
On your laptop, view the available wireless networks and you should see your wireless network name or SSID, then when you click connect you have to enter the network key.

I hope this helps!

Cannot connect new laptop to wireless network. Belkin Wireless N

The wireless settings on the laptop and the router should match. To check the settings on the router you need to access the setup page by typing 192.168.2.1 in a web browser's address bar.

By default the password is blank.

Click the Wireless tab. And take note of the SSID or wireless network name.

Go to Security, then Wireless. If the wireless security is enabled, copy the network key or security key.

On the wireless computer, you should detect SSID and if wireless security is enabled, connect to it with the correct security keys.

I need my network key to add a new computer. I went to the belkin 192.168.2.1 page but which code is my network key please?

Hello...if you have logged into your router, you can find your network key by going to Wireless > Security on the menu.
If using WPA encryption, your network key is on this page: it will be labelled Pre-Shared Key or PSK according to the manual I have. Hope this helps.

(For info: the network key may also be known as the passphrase, WPA shared key, WEP key, WPA-PSK, authentication key, or security key).
