I'm not getting any sound through my browser, but I can get sound from my zune player.

NO SOUND IN FIREFOX This article identifies several causes (and solutions) of No Sound in Firefox.
Before using the instructions in this article, make sure other applications on your computer can play sounds. If Firefox is the only application that you can't hear, continue to the troubleshooting steps below.
If you want Firefox to make a "click" sound effect when you click on a link, and to use other small sound effects like Internet Explorer does when you browse web pages, try the Navigational Sounds extension.

WINDOWS VISTA VOLUME MIXER
  1. Open Firefox and visit a site that should play sound.
  2. Click the volume icon in the Windows task bar.
  3. Click Mixer. The Volume Mixer window will appear.
  4. Make sure the Firefox slider is not at the bottom
FLASH BASED VIDEOS OR MEDIA LACK SOUND
If you're only having trouble hearing sound from pages that use Flash for video and audio (such as YouTube), you may be experiencing a problem with the Flash plugin. Follow the instructions in the Flash-based videos and sound do not play correctly article.

NON STANDARD CODE
Websites made using FrontPage add background music to webpages using non-standard code.
  1. At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, open the Tools menu, and select Page Info. The Page Info window will open.
  2. If there is a line in the Page Info window saying "GENERATOR Microsoft FrontPage ...", contact the webpage author.

OTHER PLUGINS Most web page sounds are made through plugins. For these sounds to work, you need to have the correct plugin installed. If a plugin isn't installed, you'll normally see a puzzle piece icon and Firefox will show a yellow bar telling you that you need to install the plugin.
See the Popular plugin article for links on how to install various plugins, including QuickTime, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, and more.

PLUGIN VOLUME CONTROLS
Some plugins have their own volume controls. Check for a volume control directly on the plugin or in the right-clickCtrl+click menu.

I do not have sound on my computer

1.Look in the lower right corner of your screen, does the speaker icon next to the date and time have a red circle with a line through it? If so, right click the speaker icon, open volume mixer, and click the speaker icon for device to un-mute the speakers2_bing.gif.

2.If using Windows Media Player (I am sure this applies to other media players too) please check below the video which is playing and locate the volume control slide bar. There should be a Speaker Icon next to the bar, make sure the red circle with a line through it is not on this icon either. If so, click it to un-mute your media player. Also, make sure the volume within your media player is turned up in this same place.

3.Finally, if all else fails, click the windows bubble (start menu) and right click on "Computer" or "My Computer" and click "Manage". Select "Device Manager" from the list on the left, and scroll down to "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers2_bing.gif". Expand that list, if you have any errors (Yellow Triangles, Red X's) there, you will need to reinstall drivers which can be obtained from the manufacturer's website.

My windows media player has no sound,ya the volume

Assuming you did not get a device error while attempting to play there is a sound device thing in control pannel open it and tell it to place a sound icon in the taskbar once the icon is in the taskbar double click it and make sure all volumes are on high and make sure none are checked mute. If this does not work for you you may have a more serious problem and will need to repost.

Sound device

Hi,

If your sound device is removable, like PCI Card, try to remove the PCI Card and clean the connector with dry brush, then place it firmly back again.

If your sound device built-in on your motherboard, please re-install the Device driver provided by the Motherbard Driver CD.

Low volume

Loudness Equalization : on

Equalizer: Choose one (Jazz seems to be loudest setting but sounds of hallway effect so I use powerful for clarity.)

This has more than doubled the level of volume on my acer 5570.
