you can download sony erricson pc suite and install it in the pc. Make sure that the downloaded software will support your operating system. If xp it will work. If vista , you need to download latest pc suite . By using that you can connect your phone to your PC. Hope you will succeed,....
Probably the firmware (software) in your phone is corrupt. To solve this, download 'Sony Ericsson Update Service' from Sony Ericsson Support (sonyericsson.com/support), select your phone from the list and choose to Re-install your firmware. This should solve your issue
1. The CD that came with your phone is out of date by the time you buy the phone. Get Sony Ericsson PC Suite from here: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/products/software/k510i/pcsuite21046exe?cc=pk&lc=en
But before you install Sony Ericsson PC Suite make sure any old versions and temp files are removed.

well hopefully you have the right pc suite for your sony ericsson because if its of nokia then it wont connect ,well oderwise software has just gone corrupt remove it and along with other phone drivers that are installed with it like connectivity cable driver etc then try install and use!!hope this solves your problem!!
