Which is better, vhf or uhf

In many business settings you can use either VHF or UHF with success.
VHF: Especially good for people who work somewhat line-of-sight or outdoors. VHF gets around rocks, dirt, hills and trees well and can also be used in many indoor situations.
UHF: While VHF and UHF will both operate line-of-sight up to 2 miles, UHF (450mAH range) gets in and around metal better and even has a better metal punching capability. It also works well in and around concrete structures.

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO CHANGE MY TV TO CABLE OPTION RATHER THAN UHF OR VHF

Well let me ask some questions!
1) UHF and VHF are types of off air antenna source signals.
2) Cable TV has both the Analog 'UHF and VHF' signals on them along with the new Digital TV signal sources.
A) Is you TV have a Digital Tuner built into it or are you using a CABLE TV box to hook up to your TV?
Blessings always,

Making the TV VHF plus UHF cable ready

If your tv tuner on vhf only goes to channel 13 you will not recieve uhf channels if you are hooked to cable tv. You can do a search for mid band to uhf converters (converts uhf to vhf).We used to use them in the early 80's. Even if you can find one it will only go to channel 22.

No uhf with antannae

UHF channels are basically "line of sight" type signals. You need to be pretty near those UHF stations.
You need a Uhf or combination Uhf/ Vhf antenna to receive them - - Usually an out-door type.
Your TV needs to be set in the "antenna" mode to tune beyond channel 13 "air type" channels. Channel 14 is the first UHF channel if you're in the antenna mode. If you're in the "Cable" mode then channel 14 is a cable channel which is operating at a different frequency from UHF.
I hope this will help you!

Setup will not connect to uhf stations using rabbit ears antenna1

Signal is not strong enough. Use outdoor aerial for best results.

Reception of vhf/uhf channels

You did not mention which set you have, so look for a small switch (usually on the back of the set) or go into the menu and set the TV to the "broadcast" or "tv" mode. If the set is in the "cable" mode, you will not get any UHF channels above 13.
