Hi

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump.
Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Bosch dishwasher does not drain

Here are some steps you can take when your dishwasher does not drain:

First, check the dishwasher filter and make sure it isn't clogged.Your owner's manual will have simple instructions on how to access and clean your dishwasher's filter.

Next, check the drain hose. Does it look flattened or kinked? Do you see any sharp bends? If so, straighten out the hose with your hands and manipulate it so that it regains its rounded shape.

If your dishwasher drains through the garbage disposal, try running the garbage disposal for a bit to process and clear any food. If that does not get the machine draining, you may have a deeper clog. However, most drain hoses clog either at the main household sink drain line connection or the garbage disposal connection.

Does your dishwasher spray your dishes, but it does not advance to the next stage and drain the dirty water? The timer controls the start of the draining process, so you may need an entirely new timer or a new motor for the timer. Repair service is recommended.

In some dishwashers, standing water is caused by a valve that fails to open and allow the water to drain out. This valve is controlled a solenoid that the timer controls. A malfunctioning solenoid could be the problem.

Water wont drain

If the water in your dishwasher does not spray or drain properly, there are a number of things you can do. Start by giving your dishwasher a thorough cleaning and see if that helps. See How to clean a dishwasher for step-by-step instructions.

Next, consult the owner's manual for simple instructions on how to access and clean your dishwasher's filter.

Look where the dishwasher drain hose snakes through from one cabinet to the other. Does the hose look flattened or kinked? Do you see any sharp bends? If so, straighten out the hose with your hands and manipulate it so that it regains its rounded shape.

If you hear a humming or grinding noise, that's an indication that bits of glass, broken dish pieces, beans or seeds may be caught in the pump impeller.

My gld6500l dishwasher worked fine, then my husband replaced a broken garbage disposal. The next day I ran my dishwasher and it now will not drain. Coincidence, or could the two be related?

Yes probably a connection. The dishwasher drain connects to the the Garbage disposal . If the line is kinked then the dishwasher will not drain. Plus the dishwasher has to have a plug knocked out where the drain line goes into the garbage disposal. I am sure this is your problem.

Water is draining instead of going to spray arm. what should i check next or how do i fix this problem?

I would check to see if the dishwasher is syphoning the water out. This is caused by an improperly installed drain hose. Check to make sure that the drain hose goes about the level of the main drain. Sometimes dishwasher are installed with teh drain hose going into a crawl space, or into a drain below the dishwasher.

The waste water backs up into the dishwasher when sink is plugged

Dishwasher manufacturers recommend a syphon break be fitted - but usually there is not a problem if your sink has an overflow pipe incorporated.

You have a partially blocked drain - causing wastewater to flow into the dishwasher instead.

Use 1/2 a cup of caustic soda or proprietary drain cleaner down the sink drain. Add about a pint of water, and leave overnight.
Next morning pour a full boiling kettle down the drain which should move things on and clear the drain.
You may have to repeat this process once, but is preferable to taking your pipework apart - which is next if this does not clear it.

Bosch dishwasher not draining-I have cleaned the filters, checked the hoses. No know plumbing problems what's next? Is there a reset button?

make sure there is not air in the line and that the cage where all the water drains down into in not blocked or clogged. so first take the drain line out and completely empty it out. next ck the inside where the water falls down into to drain and ck for stoppage.

It can be clogged air lock or clogged hose somewhere next to the sink.
