I just purchased my Nuvi 350 and it turned on just fine for one week. Now the screen is just blank - even when connected to an AC outlet. Any suggestions?
I've had my Nuvi 360 for over a year and suddenly it won't turn on--black screen. Nothing I do seems to matter although I see faint horizontal lines(unlit) when I hold in the reset button and that's about it. Can't see paying Garmin much to fix it as it has the old maps as well and I've seen new ones for $230 or so. Maybe I'll open it up and try disconnecting the Battery and see if it'll reboot after that.

Fixed it! Ok there are two tiny screws at top of the antenna that you can just barely see or get out. You've got to get them out first. Then I removed my antenna by applying a thin screw driver to the left side from rear view(near power button )and a black cam with a spring in the middle popped out. You may not have to remove the antenna itself -I don't remember-see if you can skip this step.Once the 2 screws are removed you can unsnap the unit. The screen portions two cables can be left plugged in, but you need to remove the antenna cable/connection at this point.A little black strip should be rotated upwards and the cable will come free, Later when putting back together place cable in assy and push down small black strip till it locks the cable in place again.Next remove the one large philips screw that holds down the board so you can pivot it forward. Once you get the board pivoted forward you'll see a small connector with red and black wires coming from the battery, all I did was disconnect it for 10 seconds or so,plugged it back in, pressed the power on button and after I did,the unit came back to life! I then very carefully put it back together and checked everything! so far so good! Good luck

The mini-USB jack needs to be either resoldered or replaced. When the jack is loose, you will not be able to charge the internal battery. The jack becomes loose from overuse. The jack needs more mechanical support to the pronted circuit board. I have fixed this problem many times.
Are you using the same port on the Nuvi to connect the car adapter and the ac charger, or two different ones? If not, then the jack could be broken (solder joint, pin?).
Try the computer USB adapter. After it's been connected for about 20 seconds then try powering on the Nuvi. Even if your unit's battery is dead the USB connection should hold power on the unit so that the computer recognizes it as a Mass Storage Device (Windows). If that doesn't work then use the wall adapter and leave it plugged in for an hour or so. At that point if the unit fails to power on then push the reset button in the back under the antena and hold it in for 10 seconds while the cord is connected to the wall. This will clear any software related issues that would stop it from powering up - any other result indicates most likely a hardware failure. At least rule out your plugs.
I had the same problem, so I hit the side of the Garmin a few times. It works perfectly now. Something inside was unaligned and needed a little force to knock it into place. I didn't hit it HARD.
Hello, Here was my problem. I was traveling at 60mph yesterday and my Nuvi 360 dislodged and fell down with a huge impact inside my car. I came home and tried to look for any damage. Unfortunately Nuvi had stopped to continue beyond loading maps screen. I tried rebooting , but the problem persisted. It would take me to reboot screen, but after screen calibration, when it came to loading map screen, again went blank. I tried this and just simple starting by pushing power button several times but to no avail. I called technical support, eho advised me to to just simply connect it to my labtop and leave it that way for 3 to4 hours. Bingo!, in the next 30 mins, I accidentally switched my laptop top off, but Nuvi had started to work all fine.
- Connect to computer using USB cable
- Flip up antenna and hit reset button.
- The unit should power up.
- Then put unit on wall charge to get a full charge.
