Without getting into a vbak and forth with you about all the details of your PC, you should use a search engine to find high-level advice on how to get your sound device going (sound card). Until THAT happens speakers will not work.
Most PC's come from the factory with some sort of sound included, could be something like Realtek. Go into your start menu, right click on Control Panel, right click on Sounds and see what you have. If you come up with a blank window, right click on window and there should be options;show diabled devices and, shoe disconnected devices. Click on those two and see what happens. If you have an option in there to eneabe a device, try that and see what happens. Dave
go to "Start/Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices/Audio" and correct set the "Sound Playback Default Device" and "Sound Recording Default Device" settings to be your computer speakers (i.e. computer sound card device).
I had that happen to me once on my Sony Vio and had to re-install the original driver. That fixed my problem. That was 5 years ago, and I haven't had any sound issues since. Hope this helps...:)
Please try to check your audio by right click (mouse) My Computer icon (on the desktop screen) > click Properties > select Hardware tab above > click Device Manager tab > click +Sound, Video & Game Controllers > double click your selected Audio Controller device- wherein you can see if the device status is working properly as well as if the Device Usage is Enabled, if not click Troubleshoot tab.
Or you can also check your Sound / Control device thru Start > Contol Panel > Sounds, Speech & Audio Devices > Sound & Audio Devices - wherein you can adjust the volume & test your sound.
Or you will have to reinstall the sound driver. best regards
This happened once with my nuvi 760 (I've had it for 2 weeks). What I found is that the "voice" had been de-selected (all by itself). No voice - no sound. After I selected a voice again, I got sound. Dunno why it happened, and I hope that it doesn't happen again.
check the device manager and see under sound, video and game controllers folder if the sound card drivers are installed properly. it might just be a re-installation of the drivers for your sound card.
you may need to access the computer's manufacturer website to download the sound drivers. another way you could try is to click Start > Run > type devmgmt.msc and hit <Enter> to open device manager
go to the Sound section and expand it --- then highlight the device and right click and then select Update Driver.
