The F1 error coming on top drawer when operating bottom drawer is due to the thermal fuse blowing up on the bottom drawer and shutting controller power.

The thermal fuse could have blown either as a normal component failure or heater over heated due to thermostat failure. In any case this can be repaired by replacing the whole heater assembly as all the parts are integrated.

This is at the underside of the drawer and will need a technician to replace unless you are very familiar with repairing electronic dishwashers. The part look like this.

The way you have described the onset of the F1 error is not due to flood switch. You can confirm that the lights on the bottom drawer are out even though the top drawer is showing F1 and beeping.

If problem was flood switch then both drawers would show F1.

Hi there, If you have had an F1 you need to dry out the product in order to reset the flood switch. This is a simple process as follows: 1. Ensure product is disconnect from wall so that it has no power. 2. Open the bottom drawer and put your hand in through the gap where the bottom of the bottom drawer comes out and feel the base of the cabinet that houses the drawers for water. 3. If there is water present dry it out as much as you can with paper towels or old rags. This machine is designed to drain all water to the front of the base of the cabinet away from the flood switch that sits at the back left corner of the cabinet base that the drawers are fitted into. 4. When you have base of the cabinet dry you need to ensure that the switch has not moisture on it in order for it to reset and allow you to start using the product. This can be done 2 ways: 1. leave bottom drawer open for 24-48 hours to allow natural air circulation to dry out the connection. or 2. position a hair dryer to blow air into the back left corner of the base of the cabinet and dry it out quicker. This still make take up to 6 hours as the flood switch had a protective cover over it to try to prevent F1's for small spills. 5. When the product had been dried out, important that you make sure it has, when you switch on the machine the F1 should be gone and ready to use. Please run each drawer seperately on a rinse cycle to confirm to yourself that it flooding was possibly caused by something blocking the sprayarm, or something stacked too high or something got stuck in the pump temporarily stopping it from draining effectively or the product suddsing too much from spilt rinse aide in one of the drawers. If each drawer runs successfully you should be in the all clear to start using it again. Please note though: if something blocks the spray arm that is directly linked to the pump your drawer will flood as a result. If you have something stuck in the pump peventing it from draining effectively ie a toothpick or piece of broken crockery this will cause your product to flood, but you will hear an louder than normal sound when the pump is running. And finally if you spill rinse aide in your drawer when filling it clean all spilt rinse aide to prevent unit from over sudsing when running. Regards KAR-Ltd

SOURCE: I have a Fisher Paykel dishwasher with water in top drawer

You need a Air gap kit designed by Fisher and Paykel to address this problem. It is pricey but it is worthy. I used this and very happy with it since no back flow problem from one while other running. Here is a link to order it.http://www.fisherpaykelparts.net/product/WT50/WT50-Dual-Air-Gap-Kit/

F1 error on Fisher and Paykel Dish Drawer

Sorry did not see your problem report earlier. If you have checked the sensor under the bottom drawer and it is dry, then F1 is caused by top drawer power filter fault. This means the bottom drawer controller is giving the F1 error but the top drawer controller has no power. Can you confirm this.

Fisher & paykel fault "F1" is displayed on the top

hello
F1 means the flood sensor senses water at base of machine at PC board.
You need to take out bottom drawer and check for water puddle under where the drawer was.If there is water you can get the machine going again by comletely drying it out(F1WILL CLEAR),but it still means you have a leak. With bottom drawer out you can really see whats going on.Once F1 is clear you can actually run upper drawer and see if it leaks. Most likely culprit are the lid actuators.Replace all 4 . It'll run like new.Don't overload drawer .That can cause lid leak too. Also the PC board may be damaged and may start to go crazy giving fake F1 codes.$80 easy fix.
good luck

F1 error

The heater unit in the bottom drawer is blown. This causes power to shut off to the controller. The effect of this is the F1 error on the top drawer.

If you get the heater on bottom drawer fixed, that should take care of the F1 error in the top drawer.

My Fisher Paykel dishwasher is flashing F1 - top drawer only. The bottom drawer is working just fine.

F1 error means the flood switch in the drawer is activated. If there is water inside when you open the drawer then you will have to manually empty it with a small container.

Most likely the solenoid that controls inlet water is faulty or the water level sensor is faulty.

Try turning the mains power and water off and on again and run dishwasher. If fault persists then you may have replace the parts.

Hi Both drawers show error F1 flashing beeping with rinse light on and both pumps run after power is applied to machine

F1 error indicates flood switch in base has activated, meaning machine has leaked. This causes machine to drain continously, and can only be stopped by switching off power. Not easy to fix if you don't have experience- bottom drawer has to be removed to access flood switch, then machine needs to be test run and checked for leaks. Best to call the professionals!!
