I have a A520 Canon digital camera. The computer will no longer recognize the camera when trying to transfer the photos.

I've tried the cables and everything looks ok. I am using a port hub.

Where do I put the memory card if it is not in the camera?

Same problem with the A520. The ports work fine, I replaced the cable and re-installed the software. Nothing.

PICTURES NO LONGER TRANSFER TO MY COMPUTER

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

Transferred photos

If you have not done so, go to the Nikon website at www.nikon.com and download the free Nikon transfer software. Install it on your computer. Once you do, you will be able to transfer both raw and jpg photos from your camera. If you are shooting all raw photos, Windows will not recognize nef file extensions without adding the proper codecs. The Nikon software lets you do this.

Nikon Coolpix S52C camera transfer pictures problem.

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Images no longer download to the computer from the camera via USB cable. Blue light flashes and camera says it is transfering but nothing is happening. Program Manager says that Cameralaunch* file is not...

Not sure what is causing your error, but have you considered taking out the memory card and inserting it into your computer? You can manual transfer the pictures from that. Hope this helped!

Memory card error

do one thing. as per canons manual:
if any error is displayed when using your memory card do a low level formating of memory card.
but what to do for pictures in it? get a memory card reader from market. its very cheap. its also advisable to use memory card reader to transfer your photos rather than using direct connectiin to computer.
after doing a low level formating then transfer photos inside memory card from system, put it in ur camera, then enjoy.
hope you are clear with your problem. please give a feedback.
