It is very important that you have 10 cm sewing thread below and behind the presser foot before starting to sew. If the thread is too short to be pulled out of the needle when the machine starts

Keep a thread tail of 3-5 inches & when you sew make sure the thread is pulled behind the needle each time you sew, even if you have to hold the thread tail with your fingers

The thread in the needle in My Brother JX2517 keeps coming out from the eye every time I try to sew. It does not break bot comes out of the needle. What is the cause and how do I fix it?

Pull more thread tail through the needle eye and hold the thread tail in your left hand when you begin the first couple of stitches. It also helps to have the needle at its highest point when beginning the first stitch.

Hm, am wondering if this is thread nesting or bird nesting. Frequently, it will create a knot or huge glob of thread on the underside of the fabric.

Be sure to start out with a brand new needle.
Remove the upper thread from the machine.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning.
Set the upper tension at the midway point between high & low numbers. (This is a beginning point but may need tweaking for your particular machine. Tension is correct when the upper and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric.)
Pull the bobbin thread to the top of your fabric before beginning to stitch.

Begin stitching slowly.

Make sure presser foot UP position. Rethread making sure thread is taut so it can locate tension slots. Rethread needle making sure its up in the needle bar shaft--flat side BACK--thread goes through needle eye front to back. Tension: 4 Jimmy

Most likely your machine is not threaded right, read your manual closely and double check yourself. Rethread your machine, no mixed thread use same weight, color does not matter but weight does. With your presser foot down, your top thread should be had to pull, with it up it should pull freely. Make sure your bobbin is wound evenly, and on a fresh bobbin. Then put in a new needle. Now, if the machine is still acting up, it may be your timing. You can call Brother at 1-877-276-8437 customer support. if you need a manual, go to www.brother-usa.com. My Brother LX 3125 does not sew zig zag stitches correctly. It zigzags about an inch then straight stitches an inch. I have changed the thread, needle, bobbin ?????

Mine did the same thing. The needle is probably to high. Do not insert the needle all the way to the top. Lower it a bit and it should zig zag!

Top thread keeps getting wrapped around bobbin case on LX-3125

You should hold the end of the thread coming through the needle until the thread has grasped the bobbin thread.
