Freak accident, won't show 75% of channels now!

Chances are that you changed the input setting by accidentally touching the input button on the remote. If you press the input button you should see a variety of inputs to select from, try AV1, etc or HDMI1, etc but not TV. When it shows the cable channel it was previously tuned to, press select and that should fix it

I think you succeeded in resetting the remote. However, no harm has been done, either you select SET and see if you can configure it to work with your gadget or better still you go back to where u purchased the remote and lodge your problem so to assit you. good luck.

I had a paper for a remote... think it is the phillips universal remote.
it said apex tv codes were as follows: 023 and 741
apex audio is: 068

This is the user's manual for a Phillips remote control. There is a list of codes in it. They should be rather universal. There's also instructions as to how to program it. I believe that there is a way to program it without using the codes.

Programming with Code Search

1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.

2. Press and hold Code Search button until the red indicator stays on. Release the Code Search button.

3. Press and release the desired mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blink, then stays lit.

4. Press the Channel Up button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device could be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit. If you accidentally overshoot the code required, press the Channel Down button to backtrack through the library until the device changes channel. Pressing Channel Up changes direction to forward again. Press and release the Mute button to install the code.

Does anyone have an answer to this problem or do I just throw the tv and remote in the garbage, really annoying trying to watch the tv with the big number on the screen and cannot get it off using the universal remote, old remote used to take it off the screen but its now broke, thinging the new one would do it, but no.

I found the solution to this problem . If someone accidentally hits the recall button the display channel will show on the TV screen, To correct this problem hit the Info Button and the display channel will disapear. This works only if you have the standard cable box. I have another TV that uses a dual mode cable box, tried this procedure with analog RCA TV but it didn't work. Don't know if this procedure will work for all display problems, but it worked for me.

go through the setup and have the TV auto programm again. This should fix the problem.
