I just took the camera out of the box and after fully charging the battery, I began to check out my new panasonic lumix DMC-FS7. After taking 2-3 pics, the camera stopped working and an error message popped up saying 'system error O.I.S.' So I turned the camera off, then back on again, but it keeps doing this... Any suggestions (besides return the camera)

There should be instructions for this in the manual - it may be a menu setting. Alternatively, put the media card into a USB card reader attached to your computer.

If your panasonic camera uses a panasonic battery and you try to use a different brand equivalent battery, some panasonics will not work. Could that be your problem?

Some Panasonic cameras only work with Panasonic batteries...part of Panasonic's plan to dominate the world! Is your replacement battery an off-brand?

if you camera is less thn a year old, and it doesn't have a DENT that you can tell, you can send it back to the pananosic repair sop for free.

if it is really bad don't waste your time they will send it back to you o call you asking for the same amount you pay for the camera o more. crazy isn't !.

you paid from 180 to 240 on this camera so it will be wort to get the replacement. just don't loss the screws lol

The innards of modern DSLRs are precise and fragile. You need to contact a reputable repair shop ASAP. In addition to fixing your camera, they will clean the interior properly, eliminating dust particles that find their way to the CCD. The cleaning is something you should have done from time to time anyway, so just bite the bullet and take it in!

my lumix dmc-lc1 just doesn't want to function suddenlu. no power when you switch it on even if the batteries are fully charge.

In case new batteries will not solve your problem and since your camera is still under warranty you should ask Panasonice to take care for it !!!!! Good luck!
