Problem with gas stove after running out of propane. Pilot lights and flame coms on but goes out after 5 minutes blowing out pilot also

you probably have air in the lines. keep trying to relight or maybe open a burner up and let it flow for a minute or two before relighting it

How to relight the pilot light?

There is an easy way to relight a pilot light in an oven/broiler if you do not have long fireplace matches and you are scared to stick your arm in with a regular lighter: Light a long stick of incense, but do not blow out the flame. Open the broiler door. Turn the oven to "broil" and extend the lit incense stick in \to the back of the broiler space. Wave the incense stick slowly back and forth below the broiler coil towards the rear of the oven until you hear the pilot light ignite, then pull the incense stick out, blow out the flame and insert into an incense holder.

AFTER LIGHTING MY RICHMOND 6G40-36F1 WATER HEATER IT LIGHT FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THE FLAME AND THE PILOT LIGHT GOES OUT. WHAT CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN?

There is air in the gas line. The best way to get the air out, is with the gas on, loosen the nut that attaches to the gas valve and make sure you can smell a little gas, then reattach the gas line, making sure everything is tight, and then relight the pilot making sure to hold the pilot light button down for at least 1 minute. Ge propane kitchen range changed to natural gas.can't get the ove

Hi, Did you flip the cap on top of the regulator? As far as adjusting the bake/broil orfices, all you will nee to do is turn them 2 full turns counter clockwise. Start the oven and watch the flame. It should have blue tips as much as possible.
You might have to raise or lower the orfice adjustment as needed.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Gas log will not stay lit for more than 5 minutes

Sounds like the gas regulator has failed.

There will be sufficient gas flow to light the pilot and get a flame prove, then the main burner lights, you will probably see the pilot flame reduce somewhat, and no longer fully surround the flame prove sensor.

When the unit is relighted, the complete sequence starts all over again.

Have the gas regulator checked and adjusted (if adjustable) or replaced by a qualified technician.

Oven produces soot when running, broiler ok, stove top ok

Al, you need to seat the needle valve on the bake. Remove the bottom drawer, right below the bake burner you will see the nut just below the air shutter adjustment. Turn this nut clockwise a few times, it might seem hard but just do it. Then try the bake again, you should have a nice bluel flame. Tenbears.

Frigidaire gas range

You could have a gas leak on one of the connections or a leaking safety valve. Mix some dishsoap, (dawn, etc) with water, 50/50. Soak the connections and fittings on the incoming line to the range. If You get bubbles you found the leak. Next find the orfice for the bake burner, take out the drawer and you should see the tube in the center. It will have an opening in the bottom where the orfice goes in. The orfice is brass, spray some soap bubbles on the brass orfice and see if it bubbles, if it does you need a new safety valve. Still no bubbles open the oven and look on the back wall of the cavity for the broil orfice ( if it has a broil burner). Hope that helps

Kenmore no flame

Is this the scenario? It lights for a few cycles or maybe not at all. The ignitor glows and goes out but no flame. Comes back on then does the same thing. If so it could be failing coils (those two black cylinders on top of the gas valve assembly). There's a kit that includes both and it's a fairly simple job.
