SOURCE: i have a heatsurge electric

Not sure what cord you replaced, but the problem is generally caused by the heater's circuit failing or the heating element itself has failed. This is a common problem with 98% of all electric fireplaces. If I recall correctly, the Heat Surge has a one year warranty. If yours falls into that one year time line and you still have your proof of purchase, file a warranty claim with the manufacturer. If it's not still in the warranty period, you can locate the necessary parts in your area, by clicking on the link below.

My switch on the blower heat does not go on

If the blower switch on your electric fireplace doesn't turn on, it could be due to a few different issues. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the power source: Ensure that the electric fireplace is plugged in and receiving power. If the unit is plugged in and still not working, try plugging it into a different outlet to see if that resolves the issue.
  2. Check the blower motor: If the power source is good, the issue could be with the blower motor itself. Turn off the power to the fireplace and remove the access panel to the blower motor. Check for any obstructions that may be blocking the motor from turning. Also, check to see if the motor is hot to the touch, as this may indicate that it has overheated and needs to be replaced.
  3. Check the switch: If the blower motor is not obstructed and doesn't seem to be overheating, the issue could be with the blower switch. Turn off the power to the fireplace and remove the access panel to the switch. Check the switch for any damage or signs of wear. If the switch appears to be damaged, it will need to be replaced.
If you're uncomfortable with troubleshooting electrical components on your own, it's best to contact a professional technician for assistance.

How do we fix a remote control for a Direct Vent Fireplace?

check to see if you have a resettable dip swith in the venting system, if you do have one, press it once, it should then come on. also make sure the gas valve is in the on position and not just in the pilot position,. Also after being off all summer season, sometimes a slitgh tap on the gas control is all it needs to dislodge the magnetic pilot plunger.

Noisy fan on electric fireplace

My recommendation would be to contact a fireplace showroom that sells electric fireplaces. It would be best if you could inspect your fireplace for the sticker that identifies the fireplace's brand and model#. The primary concern is contacting a showroom that is able to order parts for that brand...

Flame has stopped flickering on our Century Heating electric fireplace, model HEF26. Fuses or motor?

Probably, neither. If there's no brightness at all, the bulbs are burned out and need to be replaced. If the brightness is there, but no flickering, then it's probably the motor or the shaft that the bulbs are on is stuck and can't rotate. Really not an uncommon problem with electric fireplaces, no matter who the manufacturer is. If you don't hear a humming noise when the flame function is turned ON. the motor may have overheated and shut down.

To test this, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the fireplace from the wall outlet. Wait 12 - 15 minutes. Plug the unit back in and Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Turn just the flame function ON. If it starts right up, the motor has cooled and the unit reset itself. If this continues to occur on a regular basis, contact the manufacturer's Technical Service Dept. If nothing happened after it was turned back ON, contact the manufacturer for replacement parts.

Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have a Marco Natural Gas Direct Vent Fireplace that you turn on with a wall switch. Lately it will not light when the switch is turned on, this happens about 50% of the time. It is not the switch because...

The only thing a fireplace like your has that could be faulty is the thermocouple or safety switch on the gas valve.

A thermocouple is a likely suspect. Look in your manual for a part number and buy a replacement. Cleaning the old one might work too if it is heavily coated with carbon.

Help troubleshooting an FMI GL-850E Gas Fireplace

It sounds like the Ignition Control Module went out, as I've heard the vibrating noise you speak of just before the module "dies." You most likely have the gray Robertshaw control module box located under the fireplace connecting the power to the gas valve. You will need to have a Certified Gas Fireplace Specialist look into this issue and replace, if necessary.
