TV turns on, then immediately off again

Whether I use the remote or the button on the TV itself, it is only on for less then a second before switching itself back off again. The only troubleshooting suggestion in the owners manual that applied said to unplug it for an hour and try again. I left it unplugged for a day and tried, but still didn't work. I see another problem on here that might be the same, but the reply was way to technical for me. Can anyone offer any help, or should I just go get a new TV? my jvc tv power on and off. its just a second when i open the tv using button or remote its suddenly off and on again always on and off. how to fix this problem? when I turn the tv on, it turns itself off immediately try to turn tv on it turns on shows a blue screen then turns off after 2 seconds

Hi nel2874

so, you have a television that turns off immediately after you turn it on.
It sound like your power supply on the unit is out. Because I don't know the value of your unit I cannot comment on replacing the unit. But I would recommend that you use our website to find a Flat Panel TV Repairman near you. You may want to call to get an estimate on replacing the power supply before considering replacing the unit.

Can you help i have the asda rch7h10 smart price remote controls and have lost the insrutions i changed the battries and now they need re programing

Switch the TV on.
Press the Set and TV buttons together and the red LED should light continuously. Then press the power button and then press it every time the LED flashes (about once a second).
When the TV switches off, press the TV button on the remote. Switch the TV on with the remote and check that the other buttons work as expected. If not, repeat the process...
I had the same problem: worked it out by trial and error ;-) Hope it helps...

I was watching TV and suddenly the screen went black. No picture, no sound. On/off timer LED on TV started blinking. I could not turn it on (or off) with remote or ON switch on TV. I found that if I...

The television is shutting itself off to protect itself. The blinking light is a code pattern. The specific code determines whether or not you need an LCD Controller Unit, Main Board, power supply or something else. You would need the service manual. There are parts distributors you can get it from and the parts as well. If soldering and tv repair is not something you are entirely familiar you may want to seek a tv repair person. The manufacturer's support may walk you through the service menus to complete a factory reset depending upon the symptoms.
