Check the wall outlet, make sure there is power at the wall. If not, check the breaker panel. If there is power at the wall, check the TV for a manual on/off switch. If you have a power switch on the TV, turn it off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it on. If no power switch on the TV, unplug the TV for 10 seconds, then plug in again. Use the remote to turn the TV on. Check for a fuse or circuit breaker on the TV, usually near where the power cord enters the TV.
Make sure you have good batteries in the remote. If all this fails, then something may be damaged inside your TV, as a result of a power spike before the power went out, or when it came back on.
Take it to a repair shop.
We have a 50 inch magnavox plasma screen. We found and used a fix from fixya! It only costs us $34.00 campared to the $300.00+
anyone wanted to look at it. The problem was on the powerboard but was two little capacitators with the model #3300 10v. We carefully took the back off the tv and removed the power board, went to a local electric supply store and bought the 2 parts for $2 each, we then found someone (tv repair shop!) to sauter the new ones on! Got it home put it back together and it stayed on, no depressing shutdown after a few seconds! you can find a picture of a fried capacitator on yahoo images, they are supposed to be flat but if defective will be bubbled at the top or even split! I am calling Magnavox today to complain that they are not recalling this part that should have been a better quality capacitator! Hope this helps some people!!
Please count the blinks if it is a repeating pattern and post the model number. This is a relatively common problem, but the solution is dependent upon the model number.
Thanks,
Dan
The 4 blinks indicate the problem circuit, but I need the model number to give you the specifics. The category you entered is KV-36fs120 which is a 36 inch set. Please update this with the model number. It should be on the back.
Thanks,
Dan
Had the same thing today. Iwas playing with the auto demonstration of on screen displays. Press and hold the power button (5 seconds) on the TV. The auto display will play. Press the power button again (TV will go off). Turn power on again. you should now have the picture back
