Called and watched mechanic who clipped of top and bottom covers with a screw driver then tightened both screws and replaced covers. Cost was $100 but I could have wrecked the door. Needs a special little star shaped screw driver head with ratchet fitting. Now equipped for next time.

I have a Kitchenaide side by side frig and freezer. The freezer is a model KSCS251 and about ten years old. It has got a loose freezer handle. what do I need to tighten it.

There should be a few more letters and numbers in the model number. I suspect the 1 should be read as an I. Look up your model here: https://www.kitchenaid.com/customer-service/manuals/ .

For the KSCS25INMS03, there are set screw on the top and bottom of the handle for the freezer. The screws are visible from the side of the handle facing the refrigerator section of the side-by-side design. See the freezer door parts diagram for your model. One model parts diagram is here: https://www.kitchenaid.com/digitalassets/MLPDF/Repair%20Part%20List%20-%20W10128953.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I have whirlpool A CLASS fridge how do i reverse the door

  • I cannot confirm weather your fridge had reversible doors as you listed no model but the standard for fridges that can reverse the door swing are changed by doing this -
  1. You will see little plastic covers on the opposite side where the hinges and handles are currently located now.
  2. There are some little clips that hinge the screws on the top and bottom of each handle.
  3. Remove these little covers with a small flathead screwdriver.
  4. Now remove the screws holding the freezer and refrigerator handles on.
  5. Now pop the screw hole covers on the side of the frig/freezer you will using.
  6. Now place and fasten with screws the handles on the other side of the frig/freezer door.
  7. Now remove the top freezer hinge first by removing the 3 screws on top.
  8. Now pull up on the hinge (save the spacer).
  9. Now pull up on the freezer door.
  10. Now remove the screws on the middle hinge.
  11. Now pull up and remove the middle hinge while holding the frig door steady (save the spacer).
  12. Now pull up on the frig door and set to the side.
  13. Now remove the screws on the bottom hinge (save the spacer).
  14. Now put the screw hole covers you removed from the other side in the screw hole exposed from the screws you just removed.
  • The switch
  1. Start with the bottom hinge and place it on the opposite side (don't forget the spacer).
  2. Place the frig door on the bottom hinge and the place the middle hinge in the hole at the top of the frig door.
  3. Fasten the middle hinge.
  4. Place freezer door on the middle hinge.
  5. Put the freezer door in it's natural position to make putting the top hinge on possible.
  6. Screw the top hinge in.
  7. Job complete.
Regards, Tony

GE GFSL6KEXLS Stainless Steel (2585 cu ft) Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator Problem: Freezer handle is all stainless steel is loose. How can I tighten it? I looks like I would have to go through...

look for a small hole on one side of the handle. There should be a set screw there you can tighten. (the handle attaches to a ball shaped peg under the handle, and does not attach from the inside of the door)

Handle on bottom freezer drawer is loose.

Take the handle and slide to the left as far as it could go to tighten handle. This worked for me.

Loose handle on door

The door handles mount on hex bolts sticking out of the door, the door handles have key hole inserts that match with the bolts. The door handles are then slid in one direction to lock the handles in place. Removal is the reverse. To tighten the door handle screw the bolt out enough that you can still put the handle over the bolt heads and slide the handle to lock the handle in place.
