It's either mirror hinge fatigue or dust on the inside.
Mirror hinge fatigue can be fixed by putting a solid color picture (white or gray works best from what I understand) on the display and letting it sit for 20 minutes.
If it's dust, someone is going to have to go in there and clean it out.
Also could be a defective micromirror device.
Try the first suggestion and if it doesn't work, you're going to need a technician to take a look at it.

SOURCE: getting white spots on my

Hi,all HDTV have boards that control vertical and horizontal output to their respective areas. They are connected to the screen by ribbon cables. If one of these boards fails all together, has a failed chip, a bad connection, or a bad ground somewhere it will result in a black line in the area of that board and also white spots.

A bad ribbon cable connection on the bottom will result in a vertical black bar though the screen. Many times resetting the connection will fix it, if the ribbon cable has been nicked there could be a severed connection. They an sometimes be fixed, but it is a pain. An yes I have done it, but the bar is gone. The same will happen if the chip that outputs to that area opens.

The connectors are the first place to look paying close attention to the cable, they are extremely delicate so great care must be taken if you decide to tinker with em, the usually have lift locks that release them.

Good luck.

Fix a lot of white spots on mit65dlp serial wd65737

The white spots are pixels that are burned out. They will just gradually get worse. You will need a new screen or just replace the whole TV. Probably buy a new one for what it will cost to get a new screen put in it.

Mitsubishi wd60735 white spots apperaing

Thats a very coomon problem which is caused by a failed DLP chip. The mirrors get stuck and thats what causes the white spots they will keep multiplying untill the entire screen is filled. You will need to replace the DLP chip. You can get the replacement DLP chip and illustrated instructions on how to do the repair from www.tvrepairworld.com

White spots

Replace the DLP chip at cost between $160-$300 for the part and about two hours of your own time to do it.

normally white spots are whithin the screen. it is also called "panel". it is the most costly part in the tv. but one need to inspect the tv first before making sure it need to be replace. try to disconnect all cables inside the tv by opening the back cover & fix them again.
