-have a (new) phillips DVD player
-princeton 19" monitor (2 yrs old)
-converter cable (HDMI to DVI) (new)
PROBLEM: when trying to play a dvd we keep getting error message: Display connected - non HDCP compliant
current resolution on monitor is 720 x 480 and NOT able to change it! Please help!!

Ah A simple one. simply unplug the power adaptor and take itno a repair place or radio shack and ask them to measure the output to see if theres 12 volts DC on the plug?? Good Luck

Your EPROM needs to be reset. To accomplish this please
1) Power off the LCD
2) Unplug your VGA cable
3) Press the up arrow at the same time you power on the LCD monitor.
4) You will see a message "RESET EPROM" 5) Power off the unit
6) Plug in your VGA cable
7) Turn the power on.

Along with the capacitors check the transistors for discoloration as that is probably why it turns on and off continuously. I found 4 bad capacitors and 1 bad transistor on my power supply board.

I have the same problem.... ironically, one HDMI cable works perfect (a philips cable I bought from Walmart but is only 3ft) the other gives me that message and it's a cable I bought from ebay that is 50ft. Still looking into it...
