Hi,i own a dinli t-rex dl-601 100cc atv quad bike and i recently changed the v-belt,cleaned the carb, wahed filters, drained and changed engine oil, drained and changed petrol, drained and changed 2 stroke, basically stipped it and serviced it. when i start it now and give it some throttle the quad struggles to move(even with full throttle)and after it gains a little speed it kinda kicks in and then goes pretty much as normal.it actually struggles to get up steep hills as it seems to loose power.i actually have to push it to start it moving sometimes as there seems to be no power until a certain speed. can you help?

I think you might want to change catagories, I found this under Bicycles. Also, I was curious as to how you can list it as a Quad Bike . . . Bike is a short term for Bicycle, Bi meaning 2 as in 2 wheels.

SOURCE: Alini pocket quad wont move

Have a look at the choke lever. From the starting position, move the lever about 10mm up until you hear a slight click. If not then the clutch plates are not responding to the throttle input. Any lawnmower repair garage will be able to help you more. The 2 stroke works on centrifugal clutch, that is the clutch plates move outwards when throttle lever is pulled. It is a bugger to start. I've got blisters on blisters from the pull cord. My son is 10 and he may well be a little big for his but when it goes, it is fast enough to start kids off with motor bikes. Hope it helps.

Cutting out

Hi Thomas only thing I can think of is that its not getting enough air is it the right filter as it may be not be allowing enough air through. As you probably know if you don't get the right amount of fuel & air it won't run right. Hope it helps cheers Paul

Engine wont start on mini quadard 49cc model atv-2

A lot of guys are having trouble with that. If you have spark. disassemble the carb and clean it. then screw the set screw all the way in and back it out 1 1/4 turns. if you need more you do it in 1/4 turn increments.

I have an 49cc ATV midi quad bike and it will not start at all. Have changed the flywheel and pull cord and carb, but still have no joy. Have used easy start too! please help, had it over a year never bin...

I had this same problem. I had a very hard time to start this quad untill i was told to make sure the fuel filter is half full with gas. Which it wasnt getting gas through the filter. So i went down to our local dealer and purchased another filter. The new filter was getting gas this time but the quad still did not start. So i was told to take the throttle cable off the engine and pur gas right in the hole, but the cable back on, Put the choke on full make sure the gas valve is turned on and fire it up. it started right away. But i had to repeat this a few times. But works now

Quad bike keeps cutting out

ALWAYS have a fire extinguisher on hand when working on carburetors.
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).

Drain the carburetor. There may be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.

Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Remove the idle screw and the air screw on the outside throat of the
carb and spray into the screw holes as well.

Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two adjusters down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each adjuster one and one half turns outward. Before putting the slide back in the throat of the carb, move the clip on the jet needle one notch lower. Put the rest of the
carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. This process should get you back on the road.
