Photosmart C6180 All in one printer will not start although live

Strange because I have the same issue, and I've had this printer for over 3 years but the problem just started about a month ago.
I reset the printer by: 1) Unplug power to the printer 2) Hold #6 on the keyboard 3) Plug power cord back in while holding #6 Eventually (10 seconds?) the printer will shut down. Once it does, release #6 and power up the printer again.
Warning: This reset all the configuration settings.
This works for me, but there is still an issue because I have to repeat this every time I turn off/on the printer.

I get a line through my scan with my hp photosmart C6180, What can I do?

If it is a vertical line, you could review the HP support documentation for your Photosmart C6180 here:

HP Vertical Lines Bands Streaks

For horizontal lines, try using the HP "toolbox" to clean the print heads. You may need to repeat this process until you achieve a satisfactory result.

HP C6150 Printer that turns off then back on repeatedly

Please DON'T keep posting messages that say "I had the same problem..." Those are useless!

If the software resets don't work, it's possible it's an electronics problem. Here is a repair note that worked for me:

printer should reset. note: original problem may return within a short while - in this case, take your printer in for a service.

Hi,

Check the following steps:

Connect the printer directly to the wall outlet and

1. Verify that the unit is switched on. Unplug the all-in-one from power and disconnect the connection port.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug in the power only.
4. Repeat steps 2-4 two more times.
5. On the third time after plugging the unit into power, reconnect the connection port from the all-in-one to your computer.

1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on.

2. Press and hold # and 6 while plugging in the power cord

HP Photosmart C6180 won't produce scan file

just hold the right and left arrows and then switch on your printer. Release the buttons after 10 seconds, this will clear all the rom refresh problems.
