I have to go into the garage to turn on the motor on the tank and to shut it off. When I plug the hoses into the outlets in the house, it doesn't turn on the tank motor. I don't know what part to get and nobody in Raleigh, NC shops can help me.

Is this Electrolux that's now known as Aerus? If so, take it in to the Aerus Electrolux store for a tech to look at. You can find the nearest Aerus Electrolux store by following the instructions on the site at bottom of page.

It sounds like a problem with the power module in the vacuum. Without checking for myself, that's my best guess.

My wet dry vac model # L250 don't have suction. What do I do?

If the loss of suction occurred during wet vac,the float has blocked the discharge vent , and this can be cleared by unplugging vac and emptying tank. if you tip the unit over while running it will close exhaust vent and can be cleared by turning unit off and wait 1 minute and restart unit. The most common causes of loss of suction are dirty filters or a clog in the hose. To troubleshoot, remove the hose from the vacuum, place your hand at the opening of the tank inlet and turn the vac on.
If you feel suction at the inlet, the issue is with your hose or accessories. Check your hose and accessories for a clog. If no clogs are found, check the hose for a hole or crack - even a small crack can cause a loss of suction. If a crack or hole is found, replace the hose.
If you do not feel suction at the inlet, turn the vacuum off and unplug from the outlet. Follow the steps in the user manual that came with the vac to clean the filter. Check the filter for rips or tears; replace with a new filter if any are found. Empty the tank or if you are using a collection bag replace it if it's full. Make sure the filters are properly installed then secure the housing to the tank. Plug the cord into the outlet, turn the unit on and place your hand at the tank inlet to check for suction. If you still do not feel suction at the inlet, turn the vacuum off and unplug from the outlet. Check the tank for any cracks and make sure the drain cap, if applicable, is secured to the tank.

No suction when using hose attachments - motor runs and under cupboard vent works - just not able to use just the hose with attachments

does the vacuum turn on when hose plugged into wall outlet assuming your using central vac. if it does not turn on then the metal band in the hose end is possibly cracked.

The vacuum stopped working while i was using it...did all the troubleshooting tips.. still not working.

Sometimes the vacuum will overheat, if this happens the vacuum will shut down to protect it from damage.

Unplug the vacuum, and let it sit unused 30 minutes.

Please let me know if this has solved your problem.

No suction once hose is plugged in. If I go to another recepticle it has plenty of suction until I plug the hose in. I just bought this house and the owner was unable to help with operating manuals due to...

If it's just the one outlet, then there's probably a clog in the pipe between that outlet and the main pipe. You may be able to clear it by plugging the hose into a working outlet, placing other end to non-working outlet, and turning vacuum on. This may provide enough suction to **** out the clog.
If not, you'll probably need to use a mini plumber's snake to try to remove it.

When we plug in the hose the motor in garage runs but no air or suction comes out of the outlets. we cleared all the lines too.

Check to see if you have suction at the unit. If you have suction at the unit, your pipes are stopped up. If you don't have suction, you have a pipe loose under the house. Also you could just have a stopped up hose

Electrolux 1590 not turning on

TRY JUMPING THE CENTRAL VAC INLET WIRES AT WALL! IF COMES ON SOMETHING IS MISSING ON HOSE TO WALL CONNECTION. MOST HAVE A METAL RING TO ACTIVATE THE INLET DOOR WHEN HOSE IS CONNECTED.

Our Beam 2900 will not shut off. The only way to make it stop running is to unplug the tank from the power outlet. What could wrong?

There are only two possibilities. One, your relay board has gone bad and if this is the case you'll have to replace it with a new one. Two, somewhere in your system the low voltage wires are touching. An easy way to determine which it one it is, is to go to your tank and you will see the low voltage wire the is connected to the tank by two clips (the wire actually has two wires in it). Unclip the two wires from the tank and plug the power cord back in. If the tank turns on without the two clips connected then it means you need a new relay. If the tank doesn' t turn in with the clips out then that means that the low voltage wiring is causing the problem. This is rare but if they are touching somewhere it is usually where the low voltage connects to the inlet covers in your house. If you can't find where they are touching call a service man they can usually find it.

Tank not collecting dirty water

You most likely have a break in your suction hose. check at the base where it attaches. When you bring back the handle release, you can see lt. If you have the type that has the external plug in for the water, then you probably don't have the hose part plugged in to the collection tank. in the front of the collection tank. Your motor shut off? Well, If you have the first variety cleaner w/built in hose, you may have sucked water into/onto your motor. If this is the case you need to bring it for service. otherwise, you could have a blockage in your collection hose, this would also explain the machine shut down, from the thermosat. A clogged machine will ultimately overheat, wont run again till cooled.

Vacuum working perfectly and everything stopped. Went to the utility room and found a plastic bag on top of the equipment. Tried the reset button, etc. nothing works.

sounds like a bad relay in the tank just a simple repair but should be done by a vacuum tech or electrician. Could be a motor is nothing is starting at all, but not as likely.

Your relay is bad. This is very easy to change out yourself. There are several websites that sell this part online. Some websites offer free tech support.
