Error code f-21 is a simple fix on the front of your washer there is a lower panel that can be removed
with three screws. after removing panel you will see a white plastic piece/plug that you can unscrew
(be prepared for water spillage) remove that plug this is called the coin trap clean out this trap and put back together. this should solve your problem

F22 CCU / Touchpad / LED assembly error This error occurs if the touchpad/LED assembly is not able to transmit/receive data to/from the central control unit (CCU).

Possible Causes / Procedure

1. Check the touchpad/LED assembly by selecting different cycles and changing the modifiers and options available to confirm the touchpad/LED is responding.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check wire harness connections to the touchpad/LED assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU).

Replace failed component.

How do I reset a f21 error on my Maytag 5000 frontload washer?
You don't just reset it; once you fix the problem it will reset on its own.
The problem is that it drain. I ran into the same kind of problem on my Frigidaire Affinity; in my situation a rag had gotten between the inner and outer drums and was blocking the drain. Here's a link to the video of how to fix yours:

I have a whirlpool frontload washer with model number WFW83005W00 and I have an error code F21 that flashes and then the washer stops working. What does this mean and what should I do?
Means the drain is taking too long . Most likely that the drain sump filter is blocked. Remove the lower front panel and unscrew the large white thumb screw attached to the pump. Water will come out so collect it then clean and replace.

Our wash machine will not spin after draining the water.
if this is really the old 9150 version then f21 is a ccu communication error with user interface. likely ccu is bad. 5d is not a error code.
bearings will make noise when out. unplug wait 1 min the reconnect power. If this doesnt work open top cover and check connections on ccu in rear. (unplug and replug). then buy new control. if your machine is newer duet (wfwxxxx) then f21 is different. (pressure sw) tech sheet on bottom front cover.

illuminated or “F21” on display (Drain Problem)
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug
washer or disconnect power.
Check the following:
Is the drain hose kinked?
Is the drain hose frozen?
Is the drain hose clogged?
Is the drain hose more than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor?
 Any other Status light combination (Electrical Problem)
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Select
DRAIN/SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer.
Re-select cycle and press START. If the problem remains, call
for service.
