I've got Gathers memory navigation system model vxm-085c in my Honda Fit car year 2007 imported from Japan. I want to change the language from Japanese to English or French. Please help me out. Thanks.

Unfortunately this is not possible: this unit has been sold exclusively in Japan and no other firmware with another language has ever been designed for it.

Some are made specifically for the Japanese home market and only come in Japanese. One trick is to use a smartphone with the Google Translate app and use the camera feature to translate what you see onscreen. There are videos for similar models.
There is a language option in the settings. I did find a method to change language on the 164VFI and I can only hope that the menu layout is the same. I'm not familiar with your market area's vehicles, but in North America there was an issue with Honda's navigation systems causing damage to the discs. Remove the disc and inspect it for circular/crescent shaped grooves or scuff marks. If you find this type of damage you need to replaced the audio/navigation unit.
