Will not print / cartridges will not move back and forth

RE: hp deskjet 5550: paper jam; tried, but could not remove paper from back; slowly and gently pulled it out from front; paper was crinkled, but in one piece; would no longer print; error messages that a paper jam and cover not closed; checked both, found no paper scraps and made sure cover closed; cartridges stuck on left side of bar they travel back and forth on; tried removeing the cartridges, but could not get them out; when try lifting and pulling the each cartridge seems stuck on something; both the power and resume lights flashing; turn power off and unplug, and restore, but still no difference; when power back up, there is noise as if cartridges moving back and forth, but they do not moave from left side, just give a wiggle once or twice. I had this happen to me the other night and I had to restart the printer to get the print job out of the que. You could try that.

While it's restarting, unplug the power cord and the usb cable. That should reset it.

I have hp deskjet 5550 printer, when i was trying to print a document there is no print out, two lights are blinking

Hi, This could be Low-Ink or paper Jam. Try turning off The printer, Unplug from The Mains Electric, for 3-5 Minutes. Turn back On, if Lights Are Still There. Check The Ink-Levels. And Replace Cartridges, if necessary.

HP deskjet 5550 will not print. Flashing orange and green lights. There is no paper jam. I have reinstalled the printer, restarted the computer, unplugged the printer. It was working fine, then stopped...

Make sure the covers are closed completly. It will not print unless its closed. If its not that, then check to make sure you didn't knock one of the cables loose inside the printer, and make sure the belt that moves the cartridges is still intact and is not jammed.

Carriage with print cartridges does not move

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Hpdeskjet 5550 had paper jam on page 2 of 3 page document, now dead. Turned power off and on, took cartridge out and put back in, nothing working

Hi,

Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry. Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print. Also make sure that you have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job. Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..

Printer cartridges not moving

Try turning the printer off and unplugging it both from the wall and from the computer. Take the paper out.

Open the paper jam door and gently push the paper roller forward or upward until it clicks. Close the paper jam door.

Leave the printer unplugged for several minutes (15). Then plug it back in. Do not turn it back on yet and restart your computer. then turn on your printer.

I hope this reset works for you. You may have to do it more than once. I've been through this one myself.

HP C3180 all in one printer won't realign

Hi,

We've encountered several problem like this. Hope this gives an idea; I understand the cartridge will not moved back to park tray or flash ink tray back and forth because the return pick-up guide were not properly placed into each original position. It will block the ink tray moving back and forth. You can roll back the roller into the original place by removing the back cover if it has, then turn the pick-up roller slowly allowing the roller to turn and backed to its original position. Removed also remains of jammed paper pieces.

Best regards,
Rosener Guyano
