I purchased a weslo pro crosswalk 7.8 it doesn`t have a safety key how do i know which key and where to get 1 thanks bill

If this one doesn't address your issue, brouse around a little.

the 'key' is a small round magnet with a cord or chain on it,
to be clipped to your clothing for safety,
If you get too far from the handles the cord pulls the magnet off, and the machine shuts down, (hopefully before it throws you across the room). You can use a similar, magnetic 'key' from another brand of treadmill. or order one from sears

Here is a parts list for the Weslo Crosswalk 365e - scroll down to "Safety Key" and that is the part you need. They are pretty cheap so I recommend getting a couple extras in case you lose one again.

make sure you have the safety pin in and press quickstart, also make sure its plugged in

Check the overload reset breaker on the front of the frame.

Is there a key that has to be inserted in the control box? this would act as a deadman switch so that when it gets pulled out the machine stops. without it the machine won't start.

there is a safety key (red magnet) needed to operate the treadmill; you can get that from the person responsible for the sports section.

I ordered a key from the treadmill doctor site. It cost me 9.99 free shipping. I ordered the 1" Safety key for Proform & Weslo Treadmills 119038. It was a little thick so I sanded the rails on the bottom with a soft Kiss lady's nail sander. I only left a small smidgen of the rails on the key. Now it works just fine. The clothing clip is not as nice as the orginal, but is sufficient.

Hi, Yes it is! the belt is not free floating but travels on a slide. When there is pressure on it ( from someone) it rubs on the slide underneath. When you step off it should stop the rubbing noise. There you go, this should Fixya!
