Magic Bullet Blender Repair

My Magic Bullet (given to me as a Christmas gift) has broken. I need to know how to get replacement parts or repairs. The mechanism in the base that is clear plastic with 4 "wings" and connects and turns the chopper in the cups has broken. One of the "wings" broke off. How do I get it fixed?

Thanks, Cindy Richardson

I have the same problem, (except the part is black in my Magic Bullet.) I know it's the same part because you described it perfectly. The part broke into three pieces. I am going to try contacting the Magic Bullet company for parts.

Same thing happened to mine. The mechanism in the base that is dark plastic with 4 "wings" and connects and turns the chopper in the cups has broken. Two of the "wings" have broken off. It seems a shame to replace the whole bullet base just because this small plastic part broke. Can the dark plastic be replaced? I've looked on eBay for parts, but there are no replacement parts for that. How to repair?

Same thing happened to me - my ring broke into two. I contacted Customer Service and hopefully they'll write or call.

In my MAGIC BULLET the same rotating part with 4 wings on the base broke, do I have to throw it away?

  • Anonymous Apr 08, 2009

Very similar problem, but it actually broke into three pieces - I tried to super glue it back together, but now it doesn't fit back in anymore =(

  • Anonymous Apr 08, 2009

Plastic gear also broke into four pieces.

  • Anonymous Apr 15, 2009

exact same problem. I'm lost as what to do, and no one seems to have answers.

  • Anonymous Apr 21, 2009

One of the wings have broken off and a crack started across the whole piece. I tried to super glue it so it would not crack any further and that worked for about 6 more months. But finally the crack must have gotten bigger as the piece is no longer turning the blades but I can hear the engine whine.

Same exact problem...the clear plastic piece that the rubber portion of the blender blade's unit has a triangular piece broken off of it. I have written to Homeland Housewares to ask if I can order a piece and if so, would it come with instructions as to how to replace it... I just did that today. I will be EXTREMELY disappointed if I can't get the piece. I have extensively researched this on the web and my hopes aren't high. It doesn't look like they repair/replace them without the extended warranty having been purchased. Without it I am nothing! Ok, that's a little harsh, but I use the little bugger almost every day and I love it. I don't have the money for another right now...

We have the same problem. We have had our Magic Bullet for over five years and use it daily. Now the rubber piece that holds the blades on is torn and doesn't grasp onto the gear. Wondering if maybe it would be better to just purchase a whole new Bullet.

  • Anonymous Nov 03, 2012

Could be a great appliance if they didn't make it so fragile & cheap, with only a 30 day return policy. Conclusion: plastic landfill; better to splurge for a vitamix & the extra 32oz. blade/cannister from Costco etc. during a road show, or elsewhere on sale.

  • Anonymous Feb 11, 2013

I'm on the phone with them (MB) now and they say that piece is NOT available for purchase, you have to replace the whole MB motor unit. This is NUTS!!!! That a $.02 piece of plastic forces you to purchase the a $20 motor. I'm so upset and want to post negative reports to the world of this insanity and waste of a perfectly good motor system for a stupid piece of plastic. When I spoke the person they too were surprised of this too.

I had the same problem, broken plastic drive gear.
solution ; sacrifice one of the blender choppers bases you use the least (usually the flat cutter)
hold the cutter blade with pliers or in a vice if you can and unscrew the rubber gear off the shaft in a clockwise direction -- CLOCKWISE--DIRECTION-- easy huh.
Now insert screwdriver to suit,(coss, phillips or flat blade type) into centre hole in underside base of power head drive unit. Hold unit firmly and now unscrew broken gear or brass centre piece left behind CLOCKWISE again off spindle.
Finally screw rubber gear back onto motor spindle in ANTI clockwise direction. DO NOT over tighten. Rotation of motor and drag caused by blending action tightens assembly with use.
Done. for pics follow this link

Thanks so much. I bought a used one at a garage sale. The first time I used it it broke like everyone elses in the base. For the girls out there. It was a little tricky to hold both pieces at the same time the gear came off the flat blade base quite easy, but I had used vice grips when it came to taking off the brass centre piece. My screw in the motor base was a blade type and I had to make sure the blade size was right or you will strip the scew of the spindle. and then you have nothing that works. Thanks again the internet can be great!

the link is outdated, and my model does not have the center hole that attatches to a tool such as the screwdriver. I used your tip to learn which way to turn the blades, but if others also have this problem, you can remove the plastic "star" without tools by putting both the cross and flat blades facing each other and turning the bottom pieces. (I had an extra set of hands to help). The brass centre piece in the base however did not come off for me to install the rubber piece. This must have been upgraded to avoid "homemade fixing". If anyone can help, let me know!

Super simple and effective. Could not "lock" the motor from below but was able to use a flat head screw driver to hold and turn the screw that connects to the brass impeller. Works like a charm.

So, rather than pay for an entire new motor and wait for two weeks for them to get it to me, I just made a new gear/broken thing. I crazy glued the old piece back together again and used it to make a plaster mold...like the way people do with their kid's hands. Then I filled the mold with JB Weld and let it dry. After that, I drilled a hole in the new JB weld gear so that it would fit over the metal part in the bullet(that actually spins).

Glued it on (with more jb weld) and the thing has been making my smoothies and grinding my coffee with no more issues.

Sounds complicated, but it wasn't too bad. Funny thing is, the new piece is probably heaps stronger than the cheap plastic thing that broke in the first place.

Do it yourself, or e-mail me: [email protected]
I'm tired of made-to-break products and could make anyone else one of these things for around 10 bucks!

The same thing happen to me. I checked on e-Bay but to buy new base I had to pay more then $30.
I checked the www.buythebullet.com and contacted the Homeland Housewares on 1-866-446-6352 and they told me that the only thing I can do is to buy new power base and they will ship it to me for $19.98 (S&H included). Waiting for it now.

I had same thing happen to me, except that mine was 3 yrs. old. (If Cindy's was received xmas '08, it is in warranty.) But for those whose are not, I contacted the manufacturer and was told that there was no replacement part, (the clear plastic center disc on top of base,) but they offered a new base for $19.99, including shipping. I gladly purchased it, because I had searched for one on ebay, and the only 2 displayed were used, and much more than this; $35-40.00, with shipping. Hope this helps.

I have an isagenics blender. I have been told they are the same. I tried swapping the chopper base with the blender base, they are different size screws. The blender base requires a bigger nut on the gear. Do you know what size your replacement parts are?

I had a problem where the rubber "teeth" at the bottom of the blade just sheered off. All I did was brace the blade with a pair of pliers and unscrew the rubber part (clockwise! opposite of what you're used to!) and replace it with the other one. I never used the other blade anyway! I also read that you can sacrifice one of the blades and use the rubber part in place of the plastic part on the base...

Spoke with Homeland Housewares, the maker of the MB, on Sept 17, 2010 and they said it is not possible to buy just that clear plastic piece; you need to buy the complete base assembly for $19.95.

My Magic blender will not run--I tried contacting the HoomeHousewares co. to no avail--i paid extra money for insurnce on the product--no answere to phone calls to homeHouswares

sure miss the blennder

  • jamesh243 Aug 31, 2010

I carefully took my blender apart. Cleaned it with a tooth brush and reasembled. I paid paticular attention to the electrical connections with cleaning. Some items you blend will lose a drop here and there and it builds up or shorts the connection. It runs great. I did it again when it failed again (3 months of use) and it started up again without a problem. The gear shattered the other day. It just slips on. That's all I need is a gear. Simple and inexpensive. I'm stil searching.

The blender attachment is stuck to to the jar/cup; I have tried hot water, oil, the old tupperware bottle opener sheet and my husband, and still cannot get the two to separate - any suggestions?

  • helen_hansma Dec 23, 2010

To get the blender unstuck from the jar, push Down on the jar really hard and twist in the OFF direction. I had to put my blender on the floor to get enough force to push Down on the jar hard enough, and then I had to twist as hard as I could in the OFF direrction to get the jar off.

  • Lulalund Dec 31, 2010

I had the same problem! I had to run the black blender base under extremely hot water, almost boiling, for about 1 or 2 minutes while letting the cup stay cold. Then it came apart easily. The key is getting the base to expand with hot water while keeping the cup contacted from being cool.

I had the same problem and found a solution online. I just completed the repair myself, with a little help from my husband tools. I removed the black rotating piece from the blade that I used less and attached it to the base (after making a minor change to the base so that it can screw back on.) I will post the link. Remember that to remove the pieces you will be turning it the opposite direction as you usually would to unscrew something. (Typically righty tighty, lefty losey but you will want to turn it right to loosen it this time.)

Good luck,

I bet that at least 1 of the 3 tiny plastic knobs on the outside of your cups has broken off. That happened to me, and that meant the motor wouldn't engage, which was a mystery until I figured out why. I was left with only one cup that worked, until yesterday, until that one broke too! Seems like the cost of replacement cups are more than replacing the entire system! Sigh!

I need replacement parts

Searching eBay right now brings up several replacement parts listings, as well as one Magic Bullet being sold for parts or repair, currently only at 99 cents.

You can also contact Homeland Housewares (the company that makes the Magic Bullet) to find out about replacement part pricing and availability.

Hope that helps!

My Magic Bullet has broken. I need to know how to get it fix.

This happened to me, and I was told by the company that I had to purchase a brand new base, that the plastic turning device can not be repaired. If it is under warranty, you may not have to pay anything but shipping, and maybe not that either. If you do not have the number to the company, go on-line and and search for it. Call the company and report what the problem is.

My plastic "wings" broke on my Magic Bullet also, andno one knows where to get a replacement

So, rather than pay for an entire new motor and wait for two weeks forthem to get it to me, I just made a new gear/broken thing. I crazyglued the old piece back together again and used it to make a plastermold...like the way people do with their kid's hands. Then I filledthe mold with JB Weld and let it dry. After that, I drilled a hole inthe new JB weld gear so that it would fit over the metal part in thebullet(that actually spins).

Glued it on (with more jb weld) and the thing has been making my smoothies and grinding my coffee with no more issues.

Sounds complicated, but it wasn't too bad. Funny thing is, the newpiece is probably heaps stronger than the cheap plastic thing thatbroke in the first place.

Do it yourself,
I'm tired of made-to-break products and could make anyone else one of these things for around 10 bucks!
